CMTS is currently seeking a highly motivated MEP Inspector to support large scale infrastructure, aviation, and facilities construction programs. 
Position Overview

The MEP Inspector is responsible for monitoring and inspecting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction activities to ensure that all installations comply with approved construction documents, project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards. 
This position supports the Construction Management and Inspection team by verifying proper installation of building systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing infrastructure, and associated utility systems. The inspector will work closely with project managers, resident engineers, contractors, and design consultants to ensure compliance with contract requirements and maintain quality throughout construction. 
Required Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
Associate or bachelor&rsquo;s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field is preferred. 
Responsibilities

Inspect mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable building codes.

Monitor contractor installation of HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping systems, pumps, electrical distribution equipment, conduit systems, lighting, plumbing infrastructure, and related building systems.

Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals to verify proper installation of MEP systems. 
Verify that materials and equipment used in construction conform to approved submittals and project specifications.

Observe system testing, commissioning, and startup activities for mechanical and electrical systems.

Identify deficiencies, non conforming work, and potential system issues and coordinate resolution with the construction management team and contractor. 
Document inspection activities through daily reports, inspection logs, deficiency tracking, and photographic documentation. 
Participate in construction coordination meetings and assist with resolution of field issues.

Monitor contractor compliance with safety regulations and applicable OSHA requirements.

Support punch list inspections and final acceptance of MEP systems.

Maintain clear and accurate documentation of inspection activities in accordance with project quality assurance requirements. 
Required Qualifications 

Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience performing MEP inspection or construction inspection on commercial, infrastructure, or transportation projects. 
Demonstrated experience inspecting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems including HVAC equipment, electrical distribution systems, fire life safety systems, and plumbing systems.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, system diagrams, and project specifications.

Experience working in complex construction environments such as airports, transportation facilities, data centers, healthcare facilities, or large commercial projects. 
Strong knowledge of construction inspection procedures, quality assurance practices, and industry codes.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate with contractors and project teams. 
Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting aviation, transportation, or large capital infrastructure programs.

Familiarity with applicable codes and standards including NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, OSHA, and local building codes.

Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, BIM 360, Prolog, or similar platforms. 
Certifications such as ICC Inspector, NICET, OSHA 30, or related inspection credentials. 
Work Environment

This position is field based and requires working on active construction sites which may include exposure to weather conditions, construction equipment, and operational facilities environments.</div>

About Your Role 
A Junior Construction Scheduler assists in developing, maintaining, and updating project schedules to support successful construction project execution. This role works closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and senior schedulers to track activities, monitor progress, and identify schedule impacts. The Junior Scheduler helps prepare short‑term and long‑term schedules, updates progress reports, and supports coordination of labor, materials, and equipment to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope. Strong attention to detail, basic construction knowledge, and familiarity with scheduling software are essential for this role.

What You&rsquo;ll Do 
<ul>
<li>
Work under the supervision of Senior Schedulers and Project Schedulers to provide construction 
schedule review comments for contractor-generated Baseline Schedules and Monthly Schedule 
updates based on LAUSD review templates.</li>
<li>Assist the scheduling team in creating and populating various schedule related reports in Excel and 
P6 software.</li>
<li>Create Earned Value Curves based on LAUSD EVA template guidelines.</li>
<li>Performs QA/QC on contractors&rsquo; schedule submittals for conformance with contract scope and requirements.</li>
<li>Analyze schedules for proper use of program level standard codes, layouts and reports necessary to 
ensure data integrity.</li>
<li>Perform QA/QC on P6 program schedules and validate logic ties to ensure conformance with 
scheduling guidelines for various project types.</li>
<li>Update the master program schedule with as-built start and finish dates while coordinating input from 
various Facilities teams on projected/forecast sequential start/finish dates.</li></ul>

Responsibilities: 
<ul>

Analyze and interpret detailed construction documents (Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Civil) to develop a comprehensive understanding of project scope</li>
<li>Review Contractor Primavera P6 baseline schedules to identify scope gaps, missing logic, milestone inconsistencies, critical path validity, and cost-loading accuracy; provide formalized technical review comments using standardized templates</li>
<li>Evaluate monthly Contractor schedule updates, documenting milestone delays, critical path impacts, and overall schedule health through structured reporting</li>
<li>Perform QA/QC reviews of contractor schedule submittals to ensure contractual compliance</li>
<li>Develop Earned Value Management (EVM) curves and perform associated performance analysis Conduct critical path method (CPM) and earned value analyses to assess schedule performance</li>
<li>Monitor construction progress, identify schedule risks, and recommend mitigation strategies to recover or improve project timelines</li>
<li>Develop or review preliminary construction schedules based on design documents and specifications</li>
<li>Generate and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) derived from Primavera schedules and EVM data; prepare variance reports including root cause analysis and recovery recommendations</li>
<li>Perform Time Impact Analyses (TIA) utilizing Window Analysis techniques, incorporating both contemporaneous and forensic schedule evaluation methodologies</li>
<li>Interpret contract documents to determine scope applicability and evaluate entitlement for compensable and non-compensable time extensions</li>
<li>Communicate schedule-related issues effectively during project meetings and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve concerns</li>
<li>Maintain and update program-level and master schedules, ensuring consistency with established coding structures, layouts, and reporting standards</li>
<li>Prepare technical reports as required by senior management</li>
<li>Conduct site visits, attend coordination meetings, and validate contractor-reported progress against actual field conditions</li></ul> 
Salary:
