<div>Job Summary: 
The bar staff will be a very important part of getting Coastal open. These employees will be the first staff members our guests will meet. The ability of our bartenders to quickly build a relationship with each customer is a must. The bartender has the capability to provide that extra touch of customer service that will make each guest feel welcome. Below are the tasks that each bartender must perform on a daily basis to ensure the success of daily operations behind the bar.<ul><li>
Mix traditional and creative cocktails that are consistent with the drink recipes provided to all bartenders.</li><li>
Accurately process cash and credit card payments from customers.</li><li>
Ensure the bar and all-encompassing elements are thoroughly cleaned before and after the shift. This includes glasses, bottles, and bar tools. Be fully aware of all food safety regulations and maintain a clean working space.</li><li>
Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences and pursue a potential up sale on the beverage.</li><li>
Build a genuine rapport with customers to gain their trust and a new loyal customer.</li><li>
Maintain open communication with the barback to ensure the bar is stocked before the shift and remains stocked throughout the shift.</li><li>
Support and communicate with the management team and other departments at Coastal.</li><li>
Compliance with all local, state, and federal liquor laws.</li></ul>
Essential Qualifications and Experience:<ul><li>
A strong understanding of drink mixing, drink recipes, proper use of bar tools, and up to date bar techniques.</li></ul><ul><li>
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a positive and engaging personality.</li><li>
Basic math and computer skills.</li><li>
Time management abilities and the skill set to efficiently multi-task in a busy environment.</li><li>
Detail oriented and observant of all elements related to the bar including drinks, guest&rsquo;s behavior and cleanliness.</li><li>
Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing up to 8 consecutive hours and occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders and the ability to lift 25 lbs.</li><li>
High School Diploma or equivalent.</li><li>
Must be 21 years or older.</li><li>
Prior bartending/ barback/ drink mixology/ barkeep experience is a plus.</li><li>
Willingness to work at peak hours, which may include evenings, holidays, and weekends.</li><li>
The ability to work in a warm/hot environment.</li></ul>
The pay for this position is $2.13 per hour + tips.
