Job Description: The Staff Accountant performs a variety of professional accounting work related to the preparation and maintenance of public sector accounting and financial reporting records, financial functions related to budget and annual audits. The position requires knowledge of fund accounting, independent judgment and decision-making skills. Duties will include accounts payable and receivable functions, construction project accounting, grant management as well as submission of state and federal fund reimbursement requests. Duties include oversight of basic daily accounting functions, maintaining financial records and coordinating quarterly water, sewer utility billing.Essential Functions:<ul><li>General Ledger &amp; Reporting: Maintain general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and assist with financial statement preparation.</li><li>Reconciliations: Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and internal accounts to ensure accuracy.</li><li>Month-End Close: Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.</li><li>Compliance &amp; Audit: Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory standards, and assist with audit preparations.</li><li>Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process AP/AR transactions and manage expense tracking.</li><li>Analysis: Analyze accounting data to identify trends, discrepancies, or cost-saving opportunities</li></ul>Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Masters preferred, 3 to 5 years of related experience.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $40,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>On-site gym</li><li>Paid sick time</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Physical Setting:<ul><li>Office</li></ul>Work Location: In person
