We are seeking hard-working, enthusiastic individuals to fill our part-time and full-time barista positions at our Fox Chapel location! Must have flexible hours and weekend availability required!Job Functions &amp; Responsibilities<ul><li>Prioritize and provide warm, friendly customer service in a timely fashion.</li><li>Operate a traditional walk-up/ordering counter station, as well as a drive-thru station.</li><li>Coffee shops are a third space for the community &ndash; build relationships with our customers through small talk and other ways of customer engagement (remembering names, regular orders, product recommendations, etc.)</li><li>Operate our POS system efficiently and accurately to ensure speedy service and correct tickets.</li><li>Prompt upkeep and sanitation of customer seating areas, condiment counters and bathrooms throughout the shift.</li><li>Prepare and serve food &amp; drinks in accordance with health code guidelines and Coffee Tree Roasters standards (such as dialing-in espresso, following ratios for brewing, recipes for specialty drinks).</li><li>Operating coffee shop equipment, including but not limited to batch brewers, semiautomatic and superautomatic espresso machines, blenders and manual coffee brewers, etc. safely and skillfully.</li><li>Taste current and new coffee offerings, specialty drinks and food items to familiarize yourself with our menu.</li><li>Learn about our products to answer customer questions, and to sell our items with confidence and enthusiasm.</li><li>Maintain an organized and clean work environment in a busy, fast-paced setting.</li><li>Routinely perform opening, closing, and shift change procedures accordingly to task checklists.</li><li>Weekly detail cleaning to ensure customer and work areas are properly taken care of.</li><li>Restock and organize operational inventory and retail shelves throughout the shift using FIFO standards.</li><li>Receive and check in routine deliveries into our inventory system to ensure stock accuracy.</li><li>Communicate with your co-workers and managers to work as a team to resolve issues, tackle projects and make improvements to service and daily operations.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Qualifications:<ul><li>Coffee experience &amp; knowledge is preferred but not required. At minimum, an open mind and willingness to learn about coffee and how their unique terroir, how it&rsquo;s roasted and brewed can affect flavor.</li><li>Sales experience is preferred but not required. Having knowledge of our products and offerings to upsell and suggest add-ons and recommendations of high-value items will be part of the job goals.</li><li>Maintain regular, punctual attendance.</li><li>Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.</li><li>Adhere to company policies &amp; procedures reviewed at the time of hire (such as attendance guidelines, drug &amp; alcohol policy, general conduct policy, etc.)</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills &ndash; you will be working closely with a small team per shift and interacting with a variety of customers in the community.</li><li>Ability to work as part of a team.</li><li>Ability to multi-task and move with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced setting.</li><li>Receptive to constructive criticism to improve workflow and operations</li><li>Promoting good, open communication to cultivate a positive work environment</li><li>Problem solving skills, sometimes in high-stress, challenging situations.</li><li>Integrity, accountability and pride in your work</li></ul>Physical Demands<ul><li>Standing and moving on your feet for 4-8 hour shifts (with scheduled breaks in-between)</li><li>Lifting and moving items up to 50lbs - cases of milk, cups, dairy/tea/chocolate powders, etc.</li><li>Repetitive movements involved in coffee &amp; espresso preparation, milk steaming - tamping coffee, locking in/removing portafilters, etc.</li></ul>Training<ul><li>Training is paid.
