The Network Engineer will support the design, integration, testing, and sustainment of C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence) systems for maritime and expeditionary platforms.Essential Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>Design and develop secure network architectures for shipboard and shore-based C4I systems</li><li>Support integration of communication systems, data networks, and sensor systems</li><li>Integrate network components into existing and new C4I environments</li><li>Diagnose and resolve complex network issues by systematically analyzing traffic and behavior across all layers of the OSI model</li><li>Troubleshoot connectivity, performance, and latency problems using a deep understanding of protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, SRTP, and routing protocols</li><li>Perform packet-level analysis with tools like Wireshark to identify protocol anomalies and root causes of network failures</li><li>Develop interface control documentation, network diagrams, and integration plans</li><li>Evaluates performance metrics for each system/component in accordance with defined requirements.</li><li>Document discrepancies and implement corrective actions</li><li>Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity and information assurance standards</li><li>Support secure data handling up to Secret classification levels</li><li>Applies state-of-the-art techniques and industry best practices for designing, developing, modifying, and troubleshooting technical solutions</li><li>Performs related work as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.</li><li>Supports the organization&rsquo;s overall culture, goals, quality standards, and leadership philosophy.</li><li>Incorporates Cogito Innovations&rsquo; core values of Adaptability, Collaboration, and Efficiency in all activities and decisions.</li><li>Upholds Cogito Innovations&rsquo; Code of Ethics by conducting professional activities with honesty, integrity, respect, fairness, and good faith in a manner that reflects positively upon the organization.</li></ul>Education, Competency and Other Requirements<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in network engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT, or related field.</li><li>Journeyman Level:</li><li>3+ years of experience in network engineering</li><li>Experience with DoD or military C4I systems strongly preferred</li><li>Senior Level:</li><li>10+ years of experience</li><li>Experience leading network design/integration efforts for complex systems</li><li>Network design (LAN/WAN, tactical networks, SATCOM, RF systems)</li><li>Cisco/Juniper or similar enterprise networking technologies</li><li>Network security (firewalls, encryption, IA controls)</li><li>Systems integration in DoD environments</li><li>Familiarity with:</li><li>Microsoft Operating Systems, Linux Operating Systems, Network Troubleshooting and Analysis tools</li><li>Experience integrating shipboard communications systems supporting voice, video, and data applications</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of proper handling and utilization of Government Furnished Information (GFI), including but not limited to Cable Block Diagrams, Cable Running Sheets, Cable Installation/Interconnection Drawings, and Installation Requirements Drawings</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of military and commercial communications protocols</li><li>Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance</li><li>Must be a U.S. Citizen</li></ul>Core Competencies&middot; Written &amp; Oral Communication&middot; Continuous Development&middot; Integrity&middot; Critical Thinking/Problem Solving&middot; Customer Service&middot; Results Driven&middot; Decision MakingBenefitsWe offer a highly competitive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 100% 401(k) matching (up to 6% of base salary), performance-based bonuses, and more.
