SummaryWe are seeking a Medical Malpractice Paralegal to join our dynamic team in South Bend, Indiana. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our attorneys and ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of service. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in handling complex medical malpractice matters and will be comfortable managing cases from intake through trial preparation. Responsibilities<ul><li>Case Management: assist attorneys in preparing and organizing case files, accurate and up-to-date case calendars and deadlines, coordinate and schedule client meetings, court appearances, and hearings.</li><li>Document Preparation: assist in preparing legal briefs, pleadings, and motions.</li><li>Client Communications: communicate with clients and provide updates on case progress, gather information from clients and maintain regular contact to ensure case information is current and accurate.</li><li>Court Filings and Procedures: prepare and file legal documents with the court, adhering to relevant rules and procedures, monitor case dockets and ensure all deadlines are met, coordinate service of process and document delivery to parties involved.</li><li>Discovery Process: assist in the discovery process by gathering and organizing relevant documents and information, prepare discovery requests and responses.</li><li>Mediation and Settlements: assist in the preparation for mediation sessions and settlement negotiations.</li><li>Trial Support: prepare trial exhibits, witness lists, and other trial-related materials, coordinate with witnesses and experts for trial appearances.</li><li>Administrative Tasks: perform general administrative duties, such as drafting correspondence, answering phones, and managing office tasks.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Minimum of 3&ndash;5 years&rsquo; experience as a litigation paralegal, with specific focus on medical malpractice cases.</li><li>Strong knowledge of civil procedure and discovery rules.</li><li>Ability to review and summarize complex medical records.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.</li><li>Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, experts, and attorneys.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Attention to detail and accuracy.</li><li>Ability to work independently and a part of a team.</li><li>Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion in dealing with sensitive information.</li></ul>Benefits<ul><li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience.</li><li>Health, dental, and vision insurance.</li><li>401(k) with firm contribution.</li><li>Paid time off and holidays.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $46,000.00 - $60,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Medical Malpractice : 2 years (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>South Bend, IN 46601 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
