<div>Instructors in this position may be assigned to teach a full range of lower-division biology courses, to include but not be limited to: Anatomy &amp; Physiology (for non-majors and majors). Duties also include student tutoring and advising. The person filling this position must have a strong commitment to undergraduate science teaching and a broad foundation in the life sciences. 


Salary: $48,000 (MS, 9 month contract) to $51,000 (Ph.D., 9 month contract) 


Timeline: Position starting in August 2026 or January 2027 


Location: This position will be based in Twin Falls, Idaho. Teaching duties may include daytime, evening, and/or weekend hours. 


Duties and Responsibilities: 

<ul>
<li>Teach a variable semester credit load as needed.</li>
<li>Develop and implement online and hybrid learning experiences that are consistent with CSI best practices in this area.
</li><li>Devote a minimum of 37.5 hours per week to the institution, maintain appropriate office hours as determined by college policy, and bring to the attention of the immediate supervisor any conditions which might affect employment.</li>
<li>Provide collegial support to extracurricular activities that occur in the department.</li>
<li>Assist the department chair in the development of semester schedules, textbooks, and outcomes assessment processes.</li>
<li>Participate in faculty development goals to improve professional effectiveness including instructional evaluation processes, the &ldquo;Online Teacher&rdquo; certification training, the &ldquo;New Teacher&rdquo; effective teaching workshop, and other professional development opportunities to include a three-year onboarding process.
</li><li>Provide current copies of course syllabi to chairperson each semester.</li>
<li>Meet all scheduled classes promptly with any deviation being filed promptly and accurately through the appropriate channels.</li>
<li>Assume responsibility for giving exams and other measurement necessary to determine student level of performance and understanding.</li>
<li>Monitor student placement in courses and student progress; maintain accurate records.</li>
<li>Interact with and advise students.</li>
<li>Promote and help with learning assistance services.</li>
<li>Cooperate with other areas of the College to provide an effective educational program.</li>
<li>Assist in the preparation of budget requests for each year.</li>
<li>Assume responsibility for all equipment assigned to the faculty member or to those under his or her supervision.</li>
<li>Attend and participate in all departmental, division, and faculty meetings.</li>
<li>Participate in all graduation exercises.</li></ul> 


Minimum Qualifications and Skills: 

<ul>
<li>Master&rsquo;s degree from an accredited institution in the relevant discipline or a closely related field.</li>
<li>Experience in online education (development and pedagogy) strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Teaching experience (curriculum development and pedagogy) strongly preferred.

<li>Develop and maintain courteous, professional and effective working relationships with members of the college department, administration and staff.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain courteous, professional and effective working relationships with members of partner high school departments, administrations and staffs.</li>
<li>Interact well with college students.</li>
<li>Have experience advising students.</li>
<li>Have experience integrating technology in instruction and implementing distance learning strategies.</li></ul> 


Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: 

<ul>
<li>Use of computers in a multi-media classroom environment located throughout the campus.</li>
<li>Comfortable in online educational environments</li>
<li>Possible dual credit requirements to include teaching one or more sections at local high schools in accordance with CSI Dual Credit policies.</li>
<li>Possible travel to dual credit sites to provide support to dual credit instructors as needed.</li></ul>
