Job Description

Under direct supervision, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
<ul><li>Downloading and archiving finalized course and program proposals, memos, and other files related to the curriculum process.
</li><li>Type, format, and create reports from academic and room scheduling, curriculum, and catalog software.
</li><li>Manage and archive files from the Common Course Numbering Process.
</li><li>Type and format content in the annual college catalog.
</li><li>Support the transfer program through draft checking to make sure items in various documents match.
</li><li>Assist in scheduling and coordinating curriculum committee meetings including agenda and meeting minutes preparation and archiving.
</li></ul>Required Qualifications
<ul><li>Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of clerical experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and reviewing forms, documents, and other written materials; OR six months of experience as an Administrative Aid in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
<ul><li>Demonstrated writing and proofreading skills, with demonstrated experience in producing error-free, high-quality documentation and professional correspondence.
</li></ul></li></ul>Preferred Qualifications
<ul><li>Experience working with various computer programs including scheduling or curriculum or catalog software, student information systems, and Microsoft applications.
</li><li>Experience maintaining organized digital archives and document repositories with high accuracy, security, and attention to detail.
</li></ul>Weekly Schedule
Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm
Starting Salary
Grade 23, Step 1 - $39,421.44
*This position is contingent upon ongoing and available funding.
Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1. Job Description
The Nursing Department has openings for Student Workers to support the simulation labs. Reporting directly to the Simulation Lab Manager and/or Program Director, the Student-Worker will receive training to perform assigned tasks under supervision to ensure the completeness and accuracy of all duties. The primary focus of this role is to maintain the simulation settings and lab rooms in a clean, organized, and functional state to facilitate a professional learning environment.
Non-Instructional Role Clarification - The position of Lab Assistant is NOT a teaching, educational, or instructional role. In compliance with the Nevada State Board of Nursing an instructor must have a minimum of a Master's Degree in Nursing to teach. The Student-Worker is prohibited from teaching or lecturing to students. While Student-Workers may provide assistance and answer student questions regarding the physical use of lab equipment and supplies during open labs, they are not permitted to provide clinical instruction or evaluate student performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
<ul><li>Operational Support: Assist with the set-up and breakdown of lab carts, simulation settings, and equipment for scheduled sessions and labs.
</li><li>Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all lab equipment is in proper working order and perform routine cleaning of equipment and lab rooms.
</li><li>Inventory Management: Assist with stocking, organizing, and tracking lab equipment and supplies to prevent operational delays.
</li><li>Lab Assistance: Participate in open labs and provide technical guidance to students on the correct use of lab equipment and supplies.
</li><li>Safety and Compliance: Strictly adhere to OSHA Guidelines and all established lab safety and security protocols.
</li><li>Communication: Demonstrate excellent communication skills when interacting with students, faculty, and staff.
</li></ul>Physical Requirements
<ul><li>Stamina: Ability to stand for periods of 3 to 5 hours and walk for 2 to 3 hours.
</li><li>Mobility: Must be able to bend and twist at the waist and reach above and below shoulder level.
</li><li>Manual Dexterity: Ability to grasp, push, pull, and perform fine manipulation with both hands.
</li><li>Strength: Ability to lift at least 10&ndash;15 lbs.
</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications
<ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent and 18 years of age or older.
</li><li>Basic computer skills and the ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, and some weekends.
</li><li>Ability to travel to multi-campus sites as needed.
</li><li>Currently enrolled in a CSN's Nurse Assistant (NA), Practical Nurse (PN) or ADN program
</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications
<ul><li>Current third or fourth-semester nursing student in ADN program.
</li><li>Checked off on all NURS 115 skills
