 Joining Collibra&rsquo;s Customer Experience Testing Team
 
 
 
 We're looking for a talented Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, scalability, and reliability of our software applications. In this role, you will work autonomously to drive quality initiatives, advocate for a shift-left testing approach, and consistently meet high-performance standards. You will be responsible for testing the installation and deployment of software across multiple cloud providers, as well as defining, creating, and executing both manual and automated tests for complex customer user journeys. You will experiment with a variety of testing tools, promote quality awareness across the Product and Engineering organization, and build scalable pipelines and frameworks that align with our business environment.
 
 
 This is a hybrid role based in our Raleigh office. Our hybrid model means you&rsquo;ll work from the office at least two days each week. This setup helps us stay connected, work more closely together, and keep making progress as a team.
 
 
 
 SDETs at Collibra are responsible for
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Defining, creating, and executing manual and automated tests for customer user journeys, ensuring they accurately reflect real-world customer use cases.
 </li>
 <li>
 Using, developing, and executing robust automation scripts and scalable frameworks (rather than relying solely on out-of-the-box tools) using Cypress, Playwright, Rest Assured, JMeter, and Selenium.
 </li>
 <li>
 Building, maintaining, and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins, while managing test environments with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
 </li>
 <li>
 Combining strong coding skills with exploratory and manual testing sessions to catch edge cases that automation might miss. You will also define, create, and maintain complex test data.
 </li>
 <li>
 Utilizing observability tools (Grafana, Datadog) to analyze test results, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with system architects and engineers to optimize software and hardware configurations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Partnering with Engineering, Product, and Architecture teams to understand customer context, drive shift-left testing practices, and support peers in expanding their testing capabilities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Applying the scientific method (observe, research, hypothesize, test, conclude) to systematically break down complex configurations into manageable tasks. You will track issues to resolution, report on quality metrics, and integrate emerging trends to enhance ROI.

 </ul>
 
 You have
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 4+ years of experience in software testing and test automation, preferably within a SaaS or enterprise software environment.
 </li>
 <li>
 A bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a related field or equivalent working experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and/or JavaScript/TypeScript to build custom testing infrastructure.
 </li>
 <li>
 Hands-on experience with industry-standard test automation tools (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Rest Assured, JMeter, etc.).
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Gradle). Experience working with Cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with GovCloud/FedRAMP environments is a strong plus.
 </li>
 <li>
 A critical mindset to discern what to automate and what not to, strategically sampling critical tests with a focus on balancing risk, cost, and value.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong analytical capabilities to identify flaws in the testing process, toolset, or infrastructure, and the ability to propose and drive necessary improvements.
 </li>
 <li>

 A bachelor&rsquo;s degree or equivalent related working experience is required.

 Passionate about expanding testing awareness across the engineering department and mentoring your peers to elevate the team's overall quality standards.

 Measures of success
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Within your first month: You will complete onboarding, establish your local development environment, and gain a foundational understanding of our testing framework architecture and core customer user journeys.
 </li>
 <li>
 Within your third month: You will be actively delivering robust automation scripts and integrating these tests into our CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality feedback.
 </li>
 <li>
 Within your sixth month: You will lead the end-to-end automation strategy for critical user journeys, utilizing observability data to proactively eliminate bottlenecks and drive measurable improvements in overall application quality and customer satisfaction.

 Compensation For This Role
 
 
 
 The standard base salary range for this position is $116,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year.This position is not eligible for additional commission-based compensation. Salary offers are based on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, and location.
