Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day financial operations of our commercial and residential door and security company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full accounting cycle, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records that support our business operations and compliance with regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Receivable (Invoicing &amp; Collections):Prepare and issue accurate and timely invoices to customers for goods sold and services rendered. Monitor accounts receivable aging reports, follow up on past due invoices, and process customer payments (cash, checks, credit cards).Accounts Payable (Expenses &amp; Bills):Verify and record all vendor invoices (bills) and employee expenses. Schedule and process payments to vendors, ensuring all bills are paid on time to maintain a good credit standing.Payroll:Manage and process weekly payroll for all employees, including tracking timesheets, calculating wages, ensuring correct tax deductions, and coordinating payments or working with an external payroll service.Reconciliation:Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions and records, identifying and resolving any discrepancies promptly.Tax Compliance:Assist with the calculation, collection, and timely filing of sales tax returns with appropriate authorities. Collaborate with external accountants to prepare tax documents and ensure overall compliance with financial regulations.Financial Reporting &amp; General Ledger:Record day-to-day financial transactions in the accounting software (QuickBooks or similar). Maintain a balanced general ledger and assist in generating basic financial statements like income statements and balance sheets for management review.Record Keeping:Organize and maintain both digital and physical financial filing systems, ensuring confidentiality and audit-readiness.Required Skills &amp; Qualifications<ul><li>Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably within the construction, security, or related industry context.</li><li>Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and strong Microsoft Excel skills.</li><li>Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles (e.g., GAAP, debits, and credits).</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational and time-management skills.</li><li>Ability to handle sensitive and confidential financial information with integrity and discretion.</li><li>Strong communication and problem-solving skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and internal teams.</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or certification in accounting/bookkeeping is a plus.</li></ul>Pay: $23.64 - $28.48 per hourExpected hours: 40.0 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid sick time</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Work Location: In person
