Bureau/Division Overview</b></div><div>
The Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) is comprised of experienced investigators, attorneys, and support personnel that investigate violations of the Commonwealth&rsquo;s tax laws. On tobacco-related investigations, the CIB works closely with the Illegal Tobacco Task Force and with civil tobacco inspectors from the Department&rsquo;s Miscellaneous Excise Bureau. The mission of CIB is to preserve the integrity of the Commonwealth&rsquo;s tax system by investigating and seeking prosecution of tax-related crimes that will generate the maximum deterrent effect, enhance voluntary compliance, and promote public confidence in the tax system.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Position Summary</b></div><div>
The Department seeks an Investigative Intern for its Criminal Investigations Bureau. The intern will assist Tax Fraud Investigators and other CIB personnel with investigations. This is a great opportunity to obtain hands-on investigative experience while also learning various facets of state tax law including, but not limited to: tax evasion, money laundering, and tobacco smuggling. The chance to assist with tobacco inspections in the field is also a possibility based on experience, interest, and availability. The Bureau works in a hybrid model (part remote and part in-office in Boston).</div><div></div><div><b><br>

Summer Intern - Criminal Investigations Bureau

<div></div><div><div><p>The Southeast Area On-Grounds Adult Residential Program is seeking a talented individual who have the ability to develop therapeutic relationships with Person Served to assist in developing meaningful Community Service Plans that will meet their life goals. A professional atmosphere and performance are expected at all times. Documentation of Person Served progress and communication is an essential duty. Maintaining a Person Centered and Trauma Informed approach fosters an environment where individuals can work on achieving their goals and dealing with any barriers to their progress. This position requires transportation of clients to appointments and other community activities.</p><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p>

Residential Mental Health Worker II - Evening Shift - On Grounds Program

<div></div><div><div><p>The Cape &amp; Islands Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) operated by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking a dynamic candidate who will provide direct care services to individuals in a residential group home setting. This position will act as a primary advocate for assigned Persons Served; assisting individuals to meet their rehabilitation goals, completing required daily documentation and maintaining a Person Centered, Trauma Informed approach.</p><p>
The selected candidate will work as part of a residential group home team within the ACCS program and will provide rehabilitative interventions to persons with major mental illness by participating in the development of comprehensive assessments as well as developing and implementing the clients&rsquo; Individual Action Plan. Additional responsibilities may include securing appropriate services for persons served by working with other programs within the agency as well as the community such as SSI, Mass rehab, day programs, psychiatric and medical services. Knowledge of all medications used within the program is expected as he or she will be distributing medications to clients and educating on proper usage. The incumbent in this position will maintain a therapeutic atmosphere through professional performance and attitude to promote quality care and person served growth. Transporting clients to and from appointments or activities using a program vehicle or their own vehicle is necessary for this role.</p><p></p><p><b><br>

<div></div><div><div><p>The Department of Unemployment Assistance (DUA) administers the unemployment Insurance (UI) program which provides temporary income assistance to Massachusetts workers who are unemployed through no fault of their own and who are able to work, available for work, and looking for work and looking for a job. The appeals process for unemployment issues is governed by Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 151A. For claimants or employers who receive unfavorable determinations, the Hearings Department is the first level of appeal. The Hearings Department conducts hearings virtually, telephonically, and in person at various locations throughout the state.</p><p>
The Office Support Specialist performs administrative support functions such as preparing and analyzing correspondence, reports and other materials as needed; scanning, uploading and indexing documents into an online system. The incumbent performs other complex clerical duties requiring a considerable degree of decision in order to ensure that lower authority appeals are processed, scheduled and disposed of in accordance with DOL guidelines and &ldquo;due process&rdquo; considerations.</p><p>
