Community Action Stops Abuse (CASA)Founded in 1977, CASA is the official 501c3 domestic violence center based in Pinellas County, FL. We operate the area&rsquo;s 24-hour hotline and emergency shelter; non-residential programs, such as support groups, economic empowerment and legal advocacy; Child Protective Investigative Team support; community and corporate training; and the CASA Peacemakers anti-bullying and healthy relationship school curriculum.Position Title: Shelter Case ManagerReports To: Shelter Manager (Assigned to Shift: Day, Evening, or Overnight)Major Function: To provide case management, advocacy, and crisis intervention to survivors of domestic violence and their children who are residing at shelter.Illustrative Duties:<ul><li>Provide support, advocacy, crisis intervention, case management, and resources to survivors of domestic violence following the empowerment-based advocacy model.</li><li>Answer the domestic violence hotline as well as monitoring the hotline chat to provide quality services to callers.</li><li>Track and document participants entering shelter to ensure population tracking is accurate and updated daily.</li><li>Carry an assigned caseload and meet with each participant on a regular basis to provide resources, advocacy, and ongoing safety planning.</li><li>Participate in ongoing case reviews and case staffing&rsquo;s.</li><li>Complete all required paperwork, data entry, and monthly reports in a timely manner.</li><li>Provide quality case management to survivors by assessing their needs and goals and help them develop and implement a plan to achieve their goals.</li><li>Effectively respond to situations in shelter per CASA policy and shelter handbook.</li><li>Assist survivors with completing the injunction packet and attend court with the survivor as needed.</li><li>Coordinate transportation for survivors and their children.</li><li>Advocate with other community agencies and the criminal justice system on participant&rsquo;s behalf as requested by the survivor.</li><li>Perform tasks related to participant intakes and exits, including stocking suites, packing, and storing of resident belongings.</li><li>Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of all areas designated for use by participants to include sweeping, mopping, cleaning surfaces, taking out trash, sorting, organizing, etc. as needed.</li><li>Facilitate support groups/empowerment-based workshops.</li><li>Assist in cleaning and maintaining the CASA kennel as needed in addition to checking on pets that are housed in the kennel.</li><li>Unpack and sort donations, food deliveries, packages, and other items.</li><li>Assist in providing youth center coverage as well as in other program areas as requested by management.</li><li>Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.</li></ul>General:<ul><li>Understand and abide by all CASA&rsquo;s Policies and Procedures at all times.</li><li>Demonstrate a commitment to treat residents, volunteers, and co-workers in a respectful manner at all times.</li><li>Attend staff meetings.</li><li>Maintain all required training hours annually.</li><li>Agree to work a flexible schedule when required, which may include changing schedules to ensure case management coverage, due to illness, absence, vacation other staff members, or a natural disaster.</li><li>Complete special projects as requested.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>High school diploma with at least 6 months of related work or educational experience.</li><li>Experience working with survivors of domestic violence, social work, criminal justice related experience, or other crisis related experience preferred.</li><li>Demonstrate knowledge of current community resources and have the ability to maintain working relationships with agencies.</li><li>Bilingual preferred.</li><li>Agree to drive agency vehicles as needed.</li><li>Ability to function independently and work cooperatively as a member of a team.</li><li>Possess a valid Florida State Driver&rsquo;s License and current automobile insurance to be verified on an annual basis.</li><li>Possess the ability to climb stairs and lift at least 25 pounds.</li><li>Agree to participate in a background check upon employment.</li><li>All employees of CASA are considered &ldquo;essential&rdquo;
