CHCA is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team at our Gustine specialty clinic. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facility with back office clinical support and front office administrative support, as needed. The regular work schedule will be Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and Wednesday 9am-6pm. Primarily will work at this site and may be asked to go to nearby sites for training or staffing support.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties:<ul><li>
Reception, answer phones and schedule appointments</li><li>
Verify insurance eligibility and coordinate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures</li><li>
Assist patients with registration forms and maintain accurate files and medical records</li><li>
Perform data entry related to patient billing, transcription, and insurance claims</li><li>
Coordinate referrals</li><li>
Process prescription requests</li><li>
Track inventory and supplies</li><li>
Follow legal and ethical standards in all tasks</li></ul>
Clinical Duties:<ul><li>
Measure and record vital signs, patient interview, history and chief complaint</li><li>
Provide patient education on medication, disease management, home treatment and special diets</li><li>
Prepare patients for examination and perform routine screening tests and assist healthcare providers with exams</li><li>
Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens, perform basic lab tests and EKGs, assist with x-rays and procedures</li><li>
Prepare and administer medications with healthcare provider's authorization</li><li>
Change dressing, apply bandages, remove sutures, perform CPR and other first aid procedures</li><li>
Maintain supplies and equipment, stock and sterile instruments</li></ul>

Requirements:

Qualifications:<ul><li>
2 years Medical Assistant experience</li><li>
Medical Assistant (MA) certification</li><li>
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification</li><li>
Bilingual fluency required</li><li>
Effective organizational and communication skills</li><li>
Ability to learn and adapt to needs of the clinic</li><li>
Willingness to travel to other site, when needed</li><li>
High school diploma or equivalent</li></ul></div>
