<div>Under the general and direct supervision of the dentist, assists during the examination and treatment of patients.

Essential Duties and Major responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Prepare patient for dental treatment.</li>
<li>Take blood pressure and pulse as required.</li>
<li>Maintain dental instruments, materials and medications in the quantities to be used for general and specialized scheduled treatment.</li>
<li>Keep oral operating areas clear before and after dental procedures.</li>
<li>Prepare restorative materials and dental cements.</li>
<li>Sterilize instruments using autoclaves.</li>
<li>Perform routine maintenance described as follows: lubricate equipment, replace expendable parts, and clean operatories.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>
<li>Help patients with appointments, payments etc. when required.</li>
<li>Take, develop and mount x-rays (DANB national certification)</li>
<li>Prepare work to be sent to dental laboratories.</li>
<li>Works as part of team and works at the Community Health Center as required.</li>
<li>Demonstrate understanding and commitment of the health center mission</li>
<li>Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the established CHC Values and Standards</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Minimum High school diploma</li>
</ul><ul><li>Basic knowledge of dental terminology and dental service procedures required.</li>
<li>Minimum 1 year experience as a dental assistant.</li>
<li>CPR Certified</li>
<li>Mass State License</li>
<li>Proficient reading, writing, and speaking in English.</li>
<li>Work experience similar to a medical office environment</li>
<li>Demonstrated interpersonal relationship skills</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding office environment</li>
