Job Summary:
The HR Generalist will serve as the on-site human resources representative for the Johnstown branch, supporting day-to-day HR operations and ensuring alignment with company-wide HR strategies and compliance standards. This role will act as a resource for employees and managers on a wide range of HR matters including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits, and performance management.
Essential Job Functions:<ul><li>Provides administrative and clerical support to Human Resources department, including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, employee/labor relations, compensation, benefits, training, etc.</li><li>Assist with records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations.</li><li>Serve as the on-site HR representative and liaison between the Johnstown facility and Maryland HQ.</li><li>Support employee relations, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.</li><li>Manage new hire orientation and off boarding processes.</li><li>Provide guidance on HR policies, labor laws, and best practices.</li><li>Coordinate employee training, development, and performance review processes.</li><li>Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.</li><li>Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations</li><li>Assist with safety initiatives and workers&rsquo; compensation reporting as needed.</li></ul>
Other Job Functions:<ul><li>Champion employee engagement and foster a respectful, inclusive workplace.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>

Requirements:

Qualifications/Education:<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.</li><li>3&ndash;5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.</li><li>Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills</li><li>Ability to work independently with guidance from a remote HR team</li><li>Experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity, Deltek Costpoint) and Microsoft Office Suite</li><li>PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus</li></ul>
Physical Requirements:<ul><li>Occasionally will need to lift/and or move up to 10 lbs.</li><li>Occasional Travel may be required.</li><li>This is largely a sedentary role; This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.</li></ul>
