The Courier coordinates the pick-up and delivery of medical specimens, reports, and supplies from area medical facilities. Working under close supervision, this role communicates effectively with departments to deliver products in a timely fashion. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 7:30AM-3:30PM.Essential Job Function

<li>Reviews and abide by the established schedule or dispatched route in order to meet all delivery needs efficiently.</li>
<li>Documents the condition and maintenance of the hospital vehicle and coordinates with the appropriate parties to fix problems that arise.</li>
<li>Handles the operations of the hospital vehicle in compliance with Department of Transportation and motor vehicle regulations in order to ensure safe driving.</li>
<li>Assists with any issues that arise related to incorrect addresses to deliver materials to the correct parties.</li>
<li>Responds to internal inquiries regarding delivery times and schedules to meet needs and resolve any concerns.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>

Courier

The Respiratory Therapy Clinical Specialist is responsible for personally providing care to patients that have acute critical conditions and cardiac and pulmonary disease. Working under some supervision, this role operates various equipment related to respiratory care, performs testing, and advocates for patients' needs. Working under direct supervision, this role carries out treatment plans designed by a licensed Respiratory Therapist.
 
Essential Job Function: 
<ul>
<li>Performs diagnostic tests such as EKGs to inform the development of treatment plans.</li>
<li>Assists with the monitoring of invasive and non-invasive ventilators to track and improve the patients recovery.</li>
<li>Advocates for patients needs internally to deliver the most appropriate care.</li>
<li>Verifies using established protocol that equipment is functioning properly so that treatment plans can be carried out.</li>
<li>Documents care and outcomes as required by regulatory agencies and organizational procedures to maintain patient records and suggest improvements in care.</li>
<li>Supports the administration of more advanced therapies, such as bronchoscopies, to treat more complex cases.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Education: 
<ul>
<li>Required: Graduate of a 2-year school for Respiratory Therapy.</li>
</ul>
Experience: 
<ul>
<li>Required: 1 year of clinical experience in Respiratory Care at Cone Health.</li>
</ul>
Licensure/Certification/Listing: 
<ul>
<li>Required: Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a RRT; Licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board as a CRT or RRT; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; ACLS-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)Obtain RRT within 6 months of employment.</li>
</ul>

Respiratory Therapy Clinical Specialist

Clinical Research Nurses work closely with study subjects and other research staff and are involved in most steps of the research trial process. They perform some patient-related care and assessments within the scope of their licensure. Their work is routine in nature, with assignments provided at a task level, focused on the long-term goals of clinical research trial and process. Clinical Research Nurses have no supervisory responsibilities and work under immediate supervision.
 
Essential Job Function: 
<ul>
<li>Reviews patient cases, medical histories, and current treatment plans to effectively recruit and enroll potential research subjects that are actively engaged in the informed consent process.</li>
<li>Supports the regulatory process in the submission of study protocols, consent forms, and recruiting materials to the Institutional Review Board and the department for approval, facilitating the regulatory compliance necessary for research projects in the hospital/medical group setting.</li>
<li>Helps coordinate activities for multiple simultaneous clinical trials, managing various research tasks efficiently, ensuring optimal use of resources and executing research protocols in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Serves as study coordinator for pharmaceutical and/or device trials, successfully coordinating site initiation visits, monitoring visits, and close-out visits, and ensuring adherence to protocol guidelines and regulatory requirements.</li>
<li>Corresponds with healthcare teams, providers, outside research partners, and patients, ensuring clear communication and continuity of care for patients.</li>
<li>Assists in collecting and Reviewing data specific to clinical research studies to ensure accuracy and reliability.</li>
<li>Assists with the maintenance of records of patient interactions and clinical research interventions to ensure consistent and coordinated care, including collaborating with Investigator in assessment and management of Adverse Events.</li>
<li>Completes clinical tasks within the scope of nursing license to meet patients immediate needs as necessary.</li>
<li>Coordinates patient care under direction of the Investigator and in accordance with the clinical trial protocol.</li>
<li>Attends Investigator meetings and conferences as required.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Education: 
<ul>
<li>Required: Associate Degree in Nursing.</li>
<li>Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Nursing.</li>
</ul>
Experience: 
<ul>
<li>Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse.</li>
</ul>
Licensure/Certification/Listing: 
<ul>
<li>Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state, Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) through American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.</li>
