Position Summary</b></h2><p>
All Teaching Faculty members shall: Prepare and teach college-approved courses in accordance with approved course descriptions and class schedules, including developing syllabi and reading lists and keeping each course taught complete and up to date; respond to and work with multiple constituencies, including students, peers (faculty and staff), and external agencies (business, community, educational, etc.); perform divisional departmental responsibilities in the selection of texts and related teaching resources; and other teaching and related duties as outlined on the Collective Bargaining Agreement.</p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Essential Duties and Responsibilities</b></h2><p>
Under the direction of the Dean, Department Chair, or other administrator, the Assistant Professor is responsible for teaching thirty (30) credit hours per academic year and delivering a range of courses within the assigned discipline. Courses may be offered in lecture, hybrid, and/or online formats, and teaching schedules may include both day and evening classes.<br>

Key responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>
Teaching courses within the assigned discipline area in accordance with institutional standards</li><li>
Evaluating and assessing student learning outcomes</li><li>
Providing student support, mentoring, and academic advising</li><li>
Developing curriculum and periodically reviewing and updating instructional materials</li><li>
Assisting with program reviews and accreditation-related activities</li><li>
Planning and executing program-related events</li><li>
Attending workshops, trainings, and/or professional conferences to maintain currency in the field</li></ul><p>
Program Coordinator duties include:</p><ul><li>
Recruit, advise, and retain students in designated program areas</li><li>
Select appropriate part-time instructors</li><li>
Schedule program courses</li><li>
Hire and evaluate faculty</li><li>
Establish and cultivate partnerships with local organizations and employers</li><li>
Arrange and supervise student internships</li><li>
Assess, evaluate, and continuously improve the program</li><li>
Perform other duties as appropriately assigned to a Program Coordinator, in accordance with contract hours and the collective bargaining agreement</li><li>
Utilize release time, as specified in the collective bargaining agreement, to perform required administrative functions</li></ul><p>
Additional responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>
Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies</li><li>
Service on assigned committees and task forces</li><li>
Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational, and professional meetings, which may occur during evenings and weekends</li></ul><p><i>

Minimum Qualifications</b></h2><p>
Master&rsquo;s degree in Nursing<b> </b>or a related discipline. Active R.N. licensure in Connecticut.</p><p>
Successful Candidate must have or must possess:</p><ul><li>
Four (4) years college teaching experience (96+ credits); OR</li><li>
Two (2) years&rsquo; college teaching experience (48+ credits) with four (4) or more years (Fulltime Equivalency) of clinical nursing experience.</li><li>
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities</li><li>
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills</li><li>
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Preferred Qualifications</b></h2><ul><li>
Experience teaching Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) courses.</li><li>
Experience with curriculum development, program assessment and evaluation.</li><li>
Experience incorporating technology to enhance the learning environment, e.g., Blackboard, online instruction or other modalities/software.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>

Selection Process</b></h2><p>
