POSITIION DESCRIPTIONPosition Title: Safety Officer for Mobile Crisis Response TeamDepartment: MCRT Reports To: Resource Coordinator for Mobile Crisis Response TeamHOURS: 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, M-FDate Approved: 2-6-26Is a member of the Mobile Crisis Response Team and responds to the location of a person in a mental health crisis. De-escalates persons who are experiencing a mental health crisis while collaborating with law enforcement and mental health providers. Provides crisis support and stabilization activities including facilitating hospitalizations, conducts case follow-up, assists in designing safety plans, and coordinates with treatment teams and afterhours services. Works collaboratively with a Crisis Case Manager or Resource Coordinator.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITESThis job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related duties assigned by immediate supervisor.<ul><li>Provides crisis intervention, and supportive services.</li><li>Collaborates with law enforcement and mental health providers while maintaining positive relationships with community professionals.</li><li>Provides information and referral to individuals that are in crisis, pre-crisis, or post-crisis.</li><li>Conducts follow-up visits at the direction of a Resource Coordinator or other mental health provider.</li><li>Assists in the creation of safety plans.</li><li>Attends meetings at police departments or other mental health providers.</li><li>Provides court advocacy to clients involved in the criminal justice system.</li><li>Provides support and crisis intervention to families of those with mental illness.</li><li>Completes all required charting, casework, documentation, and computer entry, on a timely basis.</li><li>Attends and participates in all required training, staff meetings, and case conferences, as indicated by the Manager.</li><li>Maintains a working knowledge of the mental health and human service systems in our region to provide appropriate referral and linkage for clients served.</li><li>Works in partnership with the Crisis Case Manager to de-escalate persons in crisis, arrange suitable emergency hospitalization and transportation, provide support and conduct follow up visits.</li><li>Performs tasks that provide for patients&rsquo; safety including ongoing screening and documentation of risk factors.</li></ul>Contributes to patient treatment plans; is a team player and must be willing to assist other team members.<ul><li>Maintains a valid Ohio driver's license.</li></ul>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLSLaw Enforcement, EMS or Adult Corrections experience Required.Experience in community behavioral health or crisis intervention setting is preferred.Hold a valid Ohio driver&rsquo;s license and pass a criminal background check.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position supervises the following positions:NoneCONFIDENTIALITYRequired to respect the confidentiality of information concerning consumers who utilize Connections Recovery Services.
