Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team. This role involves driving projects from concept through market release, ensuring innovative and cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, hands-on experience with mechanical systems, and proficiency in advanced design tools.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead mechanical design projects from initial concept to final product release.</li><li>Manage multiple concurrent initiatives, including new product development and cost-reduction efforts.</li><li>Validate designs through prototype construction and rigorous evaluation.</li><li>Prepare detailed engineering reports outlining objectives, procedures, and results.</li><li>Research and specify components, materials, and manufacturing processes.</li><li>Develop manufacturing and assembly drawings, along with test and inspection documentation.</li><li>Apply GD&amp;T schemes and perform tolerance analysis for critical fits.</li><li>Present project documentation and findings during review meetings.</li><li>Collaborate with Manufacturing to optimize assembly methods and processes.</li></ul>Essential Requirements<ul><li>Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.</li><li>Experience: 3&ndash;5 years in mechanical design and manufacturing.</li><li>Technical Skills:</li><li>Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (SolidWorks experience is a plus).</li><li>Knowledge of metal die and investment casting, machining, and finishing processes.</li><li>Experience with diaphragms, gaskets, and O-ring seals.</li><li>Familiarity with pneumatic force balance systems.</li><li>Proficiency in using amperage and voltage power supplies, multi-meters, and soldering equipment.</li><li>Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written).</li></ul>Preferred Skills<ul><li>Experience with Arduino and MATLAB.</li><li>Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot low-power circuits (4&ndash;20mA / 0&ndash;10VDC).</li><li>Familiarity with analysis software (CFD, FEA).</li><li>Knowledge of Hazardous Location Approvals (FM, CSA, ATEX).</li><li>Experience in valve and spring design.</li></ul>Only candidates who can commute to Amherst, NH, will be considered, as this position does not have a relocation expense budget.
