Our team members value commitment, integrity, responsibility, and ethics in order to promote teamwork, efficiency, professionalism, and compassion to ensure we&rsquo;re providing the best possible outcomes for our patients.What You&rsquo;ll Be DoingThe Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, under the general direction of the Medical Director and Practice Administrator, will provide healthcare in a pediatric practice clinical setting within their scope.The successful candidate will / be able to:<ul><li>Obtain a comprehensive health history through patient/family interviews and chart reviews; assess presenting illness, risk factors, and family history, psychosocial situation, and cultural factors; and performing thorough physical examination</li><li>Assess, diagnose, treat, evaluate and manage acute and chronic mental illness</li><li>Conduct psychiatric evaluations</li><li>Refer patients for mental health therapy as needed</li><li>Consult with other mental health professional to ensure quality patient care</li><li>Develop and implement treatment plan including, but not limited to prescribe/dispense medications in compliance with medical practice guidelines and state laws</li><li>Able to diagnosis disease states and administer appropriate treatment</li><li>Understand and practice within specified limits and consults with Medical Director as appropriate</li><li>Order/perform appropriate laboratory, diagnostic and other screening tests, including seek other information as needed, and consult with physicians and other clinicians for the evaluation of illness as needed</li><li>Document assessment and treatment plan clearly and concisely in patient chart, in a timely fashion</li><li>Prepare documentation for medical records including updating patient medical chart by posting examination and test results, diagnosis, medications, and treatment in written format or electronically</li><li>Effectively conduct patient consults and communicate plan of treatment and care with patient/family to ensure patient awareness of self-management and health promotion/disease prevention</li><li>Recommend appropriate community resources to meet patient/family needs</li><li>Work with specified care teams for preparations for each patient office visit and the follow-up care post visit</li><li>Maintain cooperative and respectful attitude with clinic personnel, providers, and patients to enhance continuity of care and a positive working environment</li><li>Communicate appropriate information to other professionals and community agencies</li><li>Ensure an appropriate discharge plan by facilitating the implementation of the discharge plan, discharge teaching and update discharge plan in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team in accordance with patient&rsquo;s clinical course and continuing needs to expedite post discharge care</li><li>Willingness and ability to utilize telehealth to treat patients as appropriate</li><li>Perform any and all other duties as assigned</li></ul>What We&rsquo;re Looking For<ul><li>Master&rsquo;s Degree or Doctorate in Nursing required</li><li>At least 2 years of experience practicing as an NP in a clinic/practice or urgent care or environment required</li><li>Pediatric experience is a plus!</li><li>Valid TN Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses required</li><li>Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification required</li><li>Maintain all appropriate approvals to prescribe and dispense drugs under applicable Tennessee State and federal law (CDS DEA license)</li><li>Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Courteous and compassionate bedside manner</li></ul>What We Offer<ul><li>Competitive pay</li><li>Medical, dental, and vision insurance</li><li>Generous paid time off</li><li>Paid Holidays</li><li>401k</li><li>Continuing Education</li></ul>Cookeville Medical Clinic is an Equal Opportunity Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
