Apply now to be considered.LocationRaleigh, NC (Onsite &ndash; 5 days/week) Up to 25% travel to client sitesEmployment TypeFull-Time | Direct Hire Limited Relocation Assistance Available No Visa SponsorshipAbout the OpportunityOur client, a leading automation engineering organization serving the Life Sciences industry, is seeking a Senior DeltaV Controls Engineer to lead large-scale capital automation projects within biopharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing environments.This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for full project lifecycle execution&mdash;from architecture and design through commissioning and validation&mdash;within cGMP-regulated facilities.If you bring deep expertise in Emerson DeltaV, ISA-88 batch processing, and regulated manufacturing environments, this is a career-defining opportunity.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead design and implementation of complex Emerson DeltaV control systems</li><li>Own full project lifecycle: URS through FAT/SAT, commissioning, IQ/OQ support</li><li>Architect scalable, class-based DeltaV system designs</li><li>Develop ISA-88 batch sequencing, phase logic, and recipe structures</li><li>Design high-performance HMIs using DeltaV Live and DeltaV Operate (aligned with ISA-101)</li><li>Define system infrastructure (servers, virtualization, cybersecurity, redundancy)</li><li>Design and specify industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus, OPC UA)</li><li>Integrate OEM and third-party equipment into DeltaV environments</li><li>Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and engineering resources</li><li>Ensure compliance with GAMP5, cGMP, and 21 CFR Part 11 standards</li><li>Lead FAT/SAT execution and validation documentation efforts</li><li>Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across teams</li><li>Travel up to 25% for site support and commissioning activities</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Electrical, Control Systems, Chemical Engineering, or related field</li><li>8&ndash;15+ years of automation engineering experience in Life Sciences</li><li>Extensive hands-on expertise with Emerson DeltaV (architecture, configuration, implementation)</li><li>Strong experience with:</li><li>ISA-88 batch processing</li><li>ISA-101 HMI design principles</li><li>DeltaV Live and DeltaV Operate</li><li>Historian integration and advanced control strategies</li><li>Deep knowledge of cGMP, GAMP5, and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance</li><li>Experience managing capital automation projects end-to-end</li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and project management capabilities</li><li>Stable career progression within regulated manufacturing environments</li></ul>Preferred: Experience with Rockwell Automation, Ignition, Siemens PCS7, or other DCS/SCADA platforms.What&rsquo;s in It for You* Compensation: $150,000 &ndash; $180,000 base (commensurate with experience) * Career advancement within high-visibility Life Sciences projects * Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage * 401(k) with profit sharing * Tuition reimbursement &amp; professional development support * Exposure to cutting-edge biopharma and medical device manufacturing * Long-term stability in a highly regulated, recession-resistant industry * Opportunity to influence automation standards and mentor engineering teamsThis is a senior-level role with significant technical ownership and strategic impact.Ready to Lead Complex Life Sciences Automation Projects?If you&rsquo;re a seasoned DeltaV expert with strong regulatory and batch automation experience, we want to speak with you.Apply today - we are actively shortlisting candidates for immediate interviews.Pay: $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per yearWork Location: In person
