Our teams specialize in long-term care, fostering deep connections with our patients, their families, and friends in a homelike atmosphere. Committed to enhancing the quality of life for our residents, we maintain staffing levels and quality scores that exceed regulatory standards. Our facility, designed with the word &quot;home&quot; in mind, opened its doors in May 2024. Each resident room is equipped with modern furnishings, new technology, and a personal living space including a window to the outdoors, a private restroom with a shower, and amenities to support their well-being. Our facility was meticulously designed to create a welcoming environment where residents can thrive comfortably in this new place they now call home. It features four beautiful internal courtyards, including one exclusively for team members. Scope of work
Registered Nurse (RN)
Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Under the direction of the RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician and in collaboration with other members of the health care team, contributes to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Informs patients and families about treatments and medications being received, equipment being utilized, and other related activities as appropriate, in coordination with the RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician. Documents care provided via computer/written patient record in a manner consistent with guidelines.

<div>About the Unit
The Medical Critical Care (MCC) is a 24-bed unit that cares for a wide variety of critically ill patients. The next year for MCC is an exciting time as the unit will be going through a major expansion. The growth of West Michigan has resulted in the increased need for hospitals beds and specifically intensive care beds. A new 24-bed critical care unit is currently being built within the existing Meijer Heart Center. The 8th floor of the Meijer Heart Center once housed Ambulatory offices and conference rooms. This space will now be completely renovated to become the new MCC. The new unit will be finalized at the beginning of 2023. Accepting a position with the MCC offers a unique experience of moving to a brand-new critical care unit.

The RN partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.

<div>About this unit
8 Central Medical is a fast-paced 41 bed unit. Nurses on this unit care for patients with a variety of medical diagnoses or surgical patients with medical complications, which leads to excellent learning opportunities. The care environment on 8 Center allows nurses to develop exceptional clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem solving skills while working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary care team to meet the needs of complex medical patients. 8 Center has an active Professional Nurse Council, and the staff nurses are able to be involved in unit decisions with a Shared Governance Model.

As a Nurse with Corewell Health, providing top-notch patient care is paramount.
