&lt;Job Overview&gt;The Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Professional Nurse, with appropriate competency completions, is responsible for the direct and indirect nursing care of all patients ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric experiencing medically complex conditions, general medical-surgical conditions, with rehabilitation and/or wound care needs. He/She is also responsible for reporting changes in patient condition to the RN and taking direction from the RN. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to carry out the nursing process when providing care to patients. Promotes teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments. When appropriate, the licensed vocational nurse takes into consideration the patients&rsquo; age in the performance of any task.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Qualifications:&middot; Ability to project a Professional Image.&middot; Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.&middot; Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations.&middot; Strong organizational and analytical skills.&middot; Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions (Order entry, data input)&middot; Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in this position.&middot; Freedom from illegal use of drugs.&middot; A minimum of two (2) years experience preferred.&middot; Freedom from use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.Education and/or Experience:Minimum requirements are a Graduate from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or licensed practical nursing with current state license in good standing. Two or more years of acute care or rehabilitation experience as an LPN is preferred.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Current state license to practice as a LVN. Must maintain current provider CPR certification throughout employment. Additional documented training required to work in WC. ACLS certification required within 1 year of employment or as available courses allow.<ul><li>Proven experience with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth for efficient documentation.</li><li>Critical care experience in ICU, emergency medicine, or Level I trauma centers demonstrating advanced physiology knowledge and airway management skills.</li><li>Skilled in medical-surgical nursing with familiarity in medical imaging, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.</li><li>Expertise in working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays across settings like assisted living or home &amp; community care environments.</li><li>Strong knowledge of infection control practices and sterile processing procedures to ensure patient safety during invasive procedures such as venipuncture or spinal taps.</li><li>Ability to perform phlebotomy, IV insertion/infusion therapy (including PICU ventilator management), and basic life support (BLS) certification required.</li><li>Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate communication tailored to diverse populations including pediatrics (neonatal ventilator care), geriatrics (memory &amp; dementia care), and hospice patients.</li><li>Familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes and experience documenting complex medical terminology accurately within electronic records systems. Performs or supervises complete, timely, and accurate documentation of patient care.</li><li>&middot; Performs administration and documentation of medications, internal nutrition and treatments per physician&rsquo;s order and accurately records all care provided.</li><li>&middot; Performs review of medication and treatment records for completeness, accuracy in transcription of physician orders and adherence to stop order policy.</li><li>&middot; Performs or supervises the service and documentation of prescribed diets and fluid intake.</li><li>&middot; Responds to patient and family concern, ensures that each concern is documented and a resolution is initiated.</li><li>&middot; Seeks out external resources through conferences, workshops, etc. as necessary. Shares professional knowledge with staff, managers and hospital personnel.</li><li>&middot; Supports staff, patient and family education to enhance knowledge, skills, and necessary behaviors to facilitate positive outcomes.</li><li>&middot; Utilizes the nursing process, documentation, communication and technical skills, collaboration with physicians and other team members to meet performance requirements.</li><li>&middot; Promote the philosophy, mission and objectives of the Company within and to customers outside the hospital.</li><li>&middot; Demonstrates satisfactory level of interpersonal skills to interact with facility and medical staff and Administration, patients, families, customers, vendors and government agencies.</li><li>&middot; Assure participation in relevant in-service training sessions, facility meetings and continuing educational opportunities appropriate to responsibilities.</li><li>&middot; Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times in care and use of patient and hospital property.</li><li>&middot; Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks/responsibilities and complete duties within allotted time.</li><li>&middot; Appropriately accesses the resources of the company&rsquo;s corporate offices for consultation and program development support. Seeks out external resources through conferences, workshops, etc. as necessary.
