Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings &ndash; carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.</p><div>

<h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Role Purpose</b></h2><br>

<div><p>Support position to plan, organize, and control Supply Chain operations within Planning and Scheduling to optimize utilization of TCF&rsquo;s equipment, materials, and manpower and to provide maximum customer service. Works in conjunction with regional and global supply chain teams, PLM, production, quality, technology and plant management to plan and execute to deliver high level of service and cash flow performance. This position will include a varying level of project work. Expect to participate in cross-functional teams within the plant and within Corning to enhance our performance in areas such as manufacturing efficiency, supply chain operations and customer service. Additionally, this position will serve as a department representative for any projects relating to Manufacturing Execution Systems (CoMET) and Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP).</p><br>

<p><b>
Day to Day Responsibilities</b>:</p><br>
<p></p>
<ul>
<li>Set and manage expectations with customer service, Product Line Management regarding ATP (available to promise) levels and manufacturing plans.</li>
<li>Identify and resolve capacity constraints to support volatile demand</li>
<li>Supervise production control activities, coordination of experiments, maintaining priorities and serve as department&rsquo;s primary liaison with the operations, engineering, and quality Departments</li>
<li>Drive continuous improvements utilizing lean and six sigma supply chain tools (Value stream mapping, Kaizen, DMAIC, etc.)</li>
<li>Serve as a business resource for the MES and ERP systems, working in conjunction with system SME positions</li>
<li>Responsible for the development of department personnel through establishing objectives, performance appraisal, feedback and direction that are aligned with business, product and individual development needs.</li>
<li>Generate reports and analysis that increase the effectiveness of planning and manufacturing operations</li>
<li>Develops and recommends plant inventory management strategies and lean tools to gain efficiency and drive solutions.</li>
<li>Directly responsible for performing work in a safe manner and maintaining a safe work environment. Is responsible for his/her safety, as well as that of others that may be at the facility, whether working or visiting. Is responsible for observing safe work practices and being proactive for reporting any unsafe conditions. Competencies Cross-Cultural Agility</li></ul><br>

Required Education/Skills:</b></p><br>

<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree</li>
<li>Planning or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment</li>
<li>Experience interacting across functions (engineering, supply chain, etc) and at all levels of the organization</li>
<li>Experience working within ERP systems</li></ul><br>

Desired Skills:</b></p><br>

<li>Minimum 2 years experience in supply chain</li>
<li>APICS certification</li>
<li>Experience, training or certification Lean and/or Six Sigma/Performance Excellence</li>

The range for this position is $110,347.00 - $151,728.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
