Scope of Position:</b></p>

Purpose of the Position:<br>
<br>
<ul><li>Support Spring-Board initiatives to build up optimized EFS team in India.</li><li>Ensures entity compliance with local regulations, GAAP accounting principles and Corning policies and procedures.</li><li>Responsible for managing the period closing process preparation including posting of entries and accuracy of the general ledger.</li><li>Consolidates Corporate Staffs results monthly, including variance analysis and reporting to Corporate.</li><li>Ensures that required reporting is completed accurately and on a timely basis. Responsible for the financial portion of the budget and five-year planning process for the Division.</li><li>Assists in performing accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.</li><li>Collects and analyzes data on financial and/or operational metrics and performances.</li><li>Manages timeline of close, forecast, budget and communicates key deadlines to Controllers.</li><li>Executes routine, ad hoc analysis, and reporting to support business unit objectives and business partner relationships.</li><li>Reviews and administers fiscal operating policies and procedures.</li><li>Interacts with business on a regular basis, begins to network within various areas/business units.</li></ul>

<ul><li>Performs the monthly closing activities (including journal entries, reporting, reviews) and month end financial reporting activity and analysis of monthly financial performance.</li><li>Monitors and reports monthly financial performance to Controller.</li><li>Provides variance analysis and highlights variances that need corrective action.</li><li>Monitors spending and works with department managers to review/understand, and control costs; Researches and provides detail on expense variances.</li><li>Prepares Monthly/quarterly/annual reconciliations and SOX compliance tasks; DLMCs.</li><li>Leads financial efforts in the preparation for and implementation of 5-year forecasting, and annual budgeting process.</li><li>Provides financial analysis related to capital projects, strategic investments, cost reduction, and other initiatives, as required.</li><li>Drives finance process improvements and efficiencies</li><li>Supports/leads dept projects and helps coordinate key communication activities.</li></ul>

Education &amp; Experience<br>

HR Consultant will support strategic and operational HR initiatives across the organization. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, providing guidance in areas such as employee relations, compliance, performance management, organizational development, and policy implementation. The HR Consultant will ensure the plant maintains a positive work environment by proactively addressing employee concerns, fostering open communication, and promoting company culture.

</div><div><div><ul><li>Facilitate and coordinate various HR tasks through consistent application of standardized processes (i.e. hiring, onboarding, etc.)</li>
</ul></div><div><ul><li>Implement process controls that ensure accuracy while adhering to company policies/regulations.</li>
</ul></div><div><ul><li>Prioritize ongoing tasks such as managing employee data updates or responding to inquiries from employees/managers.</li>
</ul></div><div><ul><li>Recommend/implement process improvements that contribute to increased efficiency while enhancing the employee experience.</li>
</ul></div><div><ul><li>Leverage systems data and analytical skills to evaluate issues and implement corrective action</li>
</ul></div><div><ul><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with Corning COEs on HR programs and deployment plans</li>
</ul></div><div><ul><li>Ensure all SOPs are complete, accurate, and updated regularly based on policy changes/process enhancements.</li>

</div><div><div><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or relevant work experience).</li>
</ul></div><div><ul><li>At least 3+ years of progressive HR experience (generalist/specialist).</li>
</ul><div><ul><li>Strong knowledge of HR practices, processes, and employment laws and regulations.</li>
</ul></div><div><ul><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.</li>
</ul></div><div><ul><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing HR documents, records, and data.</li>

Work closely with Corning inventors and businesses to identify and patent inventions of value to Corning. Draft and prosecute patents in US, and instruct foreign counsel to prosecute in Europe, China, Korea, and elsewhere. Oversee drafting and prosecution by outside counsel. Subject matter includes new glass, glass-ceramic, and ceramic technologies; optics and communication devices; medical equipment; automobile glasses and filters; as well as technologies of emerging Corning businesses, such as battery components and smart windows.
</p></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Key Responsibilities</b></h2>
</div><div><ul><li>Collaborate with inventors and attorneys to draft high quality patent applications in accordance with established protocols, drafting about two new patent applications per month</li></ul>
<ul><li>Learn and understand technology and inventions of Corning businesses to conduct patent searches and draft targeted patent applications; meet with inventors in labs and factories</li></ul>
<ul><li>Negotiate directly with USPTO patent examiners to achieve valuable protection for Corning&rsquo;s inventions, responding to about five US office actions per month</li></ul>
<ul><li>Consider advice of foreign counsel, and then instruct foreign counsel how to negotiate with foreign patent offices concerning Corning patent applications worldwide, about ten per month</li></ul>
