CORTEC is a design, manufacturing, sales and service organization specializing in flow control applications.We are seeking a Purchasing Agent for our Houma, LA facility.Job Summary:Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies for establishment.Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:<ul><li>Manage Purchasing and RFQ (Request For Quote) Dashboards.</li><li>Create RFQ&rsquo;s to vendors to obtain availability, price, and lead.</li><li>Review quotes and negotiate price and delivery as necessary.</li><li>Create Purchase Orders (PO&rsquo;s) and manage the lifecycle of PO&rsquo;s.</li><li>Maintain and store electronic procurement records in PO/RFQ Document Reference.</li><li>Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.</li><li>Evaluate demand and expedite purchase orders as needed.</li><li>Sub out machine work and special processes</li><li>Write NCR&rsquo;s on vendors, request credits from vendors when needed.</li><li>Distribute new or revised CORTEC specifications and/or drawings to vendors.</li><li>Communicate with freight forwarders on inbound shipping details.</li><li>Credit card receipt processing via expense reporting platform.</li><li>Action daily Purchasing Reports.</li></ul>Qualifications: <ul><li>Bachelor's Degree preferred</li><li>Oil and Gas Industry purchasing experience preferred</li><li>Basic communication skills along with an ability to effectively and professionally communicate</li><li>Must have general computer skills and good organization skills.</li></ul>CORTEC offers a full benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with a generous employer match, 10 company paid holidays, profit sharing, 3 weeks of paid time off per year, and a flex Friday option.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Health savings account</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
