As a Training &amp; Development Manager for Coterra, you will serve as the subject matter expert, leading the design and delivery of professional development programs and liaising on technical training. You will partner closely with business leaders to assess skill gaps, identify learning needs, and implement targeted training solutions. This role ensures that training initiatives align with business goals, driving workforce capability and performance. In addition to delivering exceptional HR support, this role provides thought leadership in instructional design, adult learning principles, and change management to foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
As part of the Human Resources team, the Training &amp; Development Manager will report to the Manager of Organizational Development and will collaborate with business leaders, HR team members, and subject matter experts. You will not have direct reports, but rather manage the function. This position is located on-site at our headquarters in Houston, Texas. 
ESSENTIAL DUITES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>
Develop, deliver, and manage training programs, including in-person workshops, virtual sessions, and e-learning modules, to employees at all levels within an organization</li><li>
Manage training logistics, including scheduling, communication, materials preparation, and participant records</li><li>
Support the evaluation of training effectiveness by gathering participant feedback and assessing outcomes</li><li>
Manage Workday Learning (LMS) and other third-party learning platforms, ensuring accurate data entry, user access, tracking, and reporting</li><li>
Manage vendor partnerships</li><li>
Serve as internal consultant to managers on training and professional development matters</li><li>
Ensure timely and complete delivery of training and development data and metrics, along with ad hoc information requests</li><li>
Develop a strong understanding and appreciation of the company&rsquo;s organizational structure, culture, and business objectives to develop best practices and implement programs that are aligned with, and reinforce, the company&rsquo;s organizational goals</li></ul>
 SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE<ul><li>
7+ years of experience in training and facilitation, 4+ years managing the training function</li><li>
Strong facilitation skills for in-person and virtual environments</li><li>
Content development experience and a deep understanding of learning methodologies</li><li>
Excellent communication, collaboration, relationship-building, and advisory capabilities</li><li>
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite</li><li>
Familiarity with e-learning tools and platforms</li><li>
Experience administrating and optimizing LMS systems</li><li>
Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently or collaboratively across functions</li><li>
Skilled in program management and developing others through trust-based relationships and a mindset of empowerment and growth</li></ul>
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>
Certifications training or instructional design (e.g., ATD, CIPD, Birkman, FranklinCovey)</li><li>
Knowledge of Workday HRIS and Workday Learning (LMS)</li><li>
Experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus</li></ul>
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree required, preferably in human resources, or a related field.</li></ul>
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMAND
Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting, and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame-resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
