The St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney&rsquo;s Office is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our team. This role primarily serves as the office&rsquo;s receptionist, greeting visitors, answering incoming calls, and providing front-desk support while also performing a variety of essential legal and administrative duties.ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIESThe following statements are intended as general examples of the duties of this position and are not all-inclusive for specific positions. Other reasonable duties may be assigned.<ul><li>Serving as the primary receptionist by greeting visitors, answering phones, and responding to general inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.</li><li>Maintaining well-organized physical and digital case files.</li><li>Preparing discovery, assisting attorneys with trial preparation, and supporting general case management needs.</li><li>Entering court information accurately and efficiently into the case management system.</li><li>E-filing motions, responses, correspondence, and other court-related documents on behalf of the Prosecuting Attorney.</li><li>Interacting daily with other courthouse departments, court personnel, and law enforcement agencies.</li><li>Providing coverage and support for peers as needed.</li><li>Performing general clerical duties, including scanning, copying, and filing.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Punctual and reliable attendance, as shown through prior employment or educational experience.</li><li>Strong secretarial skills with excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation.</li><li>Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Windows applications, and internet navigation.</li><li>Ability to meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail, and manage multiple tasks with strong organizational skills.</li><li>A professional and courteous demeanor both in person and on the phone.</li><li>Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and follow established procedures.</li><li>A minimum of a high school diploma and a professional r&eacute;sum&eacute;.</li><li>Prior legal experience is preferred but not required.</li></ul>REQUIREMENTS/DEMANDSThe physical/mental demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
