Position Definition
 Covenant Aviation Security (CAS) is seeking professional Security Officers to support airport security operations at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). Security Officers play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment by controlling access to restricted areas, conducting inspections, verifying credentials, monitoring activity, and enforcing security procedures in accordance with airport regulations and company policies.
 This position serves as a visible security presence and requires individuals who demonstrate professionalism, vigilance, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to safety and security.

Essential Functions
 <ul>
<li>Appear on post on time per the assigned schedule, fit for duty, and in the required uniform.</li>
<li>Control access to designated airport facilities, secured areas, and restricted locations.</li>
<li>Verify identification credentials, badges, and access authorizations in accordance with established procedures.</li>
<li>Inspect persons, property, deliveries, merchandise, and vehicles as required by post orders and security protocols.</li>
<li>Monitor activity within assigned areas and report unusual, suspicious, or unauthorized activity.</li>
<li>Enforce access control measures and security procedures to protect employees, visitors, airport personnel, and client assets.</li>
<li>Conduct post inspections, equipment inspections, and review pass-down information to maintain operational awareness.</li>
<li>Operate security equipment and screening devices in accordance with established procedures.</li>
<li>Prepare accurate daily activity logs, reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.</li>
<li>Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and security concerns and notify supervisors as required.</li>
<li>Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with airport employees, contractors, visitors, and the traveling public.</li>
<li>Maintain knowledge of all applicable post orders, directives, procedures, and operational requirements.</li>
<li>Perform vehicle inspections in accordance with post orders and security procedures.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>

Minimum Qualifications
 <ul>
<li>High School Diploma or GED.</li>
<li>Must possess a valid Arizona Guard License and provide proof of licensure prior to the first day of duty.</li>
<li>Minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.</li>
<li>Minimum of one (1) year of security, military, law enforcement, airport operations, or related experience.</li>
<li>Ability to obtain and maintain all required airport credentials, badges, and access privileges.</li>
<li>Ability to learn and apply security procedures, post orders, and operational requirements.</li>
<li>Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.</li>
<li>Strong communication and customer service skills.</li>

Work Environment
 
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor airport environments; however, the majority of assigned duties are performed outdoors. Security Officers are routinely assigned to guard shacks, exterior access control points, loading docks, perimeter gates, and patrol vehicles.
 Employees are responsible for monitoring, screening, and searching personnel, vehicles, cargo, deliveries, and other property accessing the airfield and restricted areas of the airport. Duties may require prolonged exposure to outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, direct sunlight, wind, dust, rain, and other seasonal weather conditions common to the Phoenix metropolitan area.
 Officers may conduct mobile patrols along airport perimeter roads and fence lines and work in close proximity to vehicle traffic, aircraft activity, and other operational airport environments. Employees must remain alert, professional, and capable of performing assigned duties safely and effectively in all environmental conditions.

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Assistant Site Manager serves as a key member of the site leadership team and assists in the overall management, administration, compliance, and operational performance of the assigned security program.
 This position provides leadership, operational oversight, workforce management, employee development, and administrative support to ensure contractual obligations, customer expectations, and company standards are consistently achieved. The Assistant Site Manager acts on behalf of the Site Manager when required and supports the day-to-day supervision of security personnel and operational activities.

<li>Ensure compliance with all post orders, contractual requirements, client expectations, and company policies.</li>
<li>Monitor security personnel performance to ensure compliance with operational standards and assigned duties.</li>
<li>Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and support to frontline supervisors and security personnel.</li>

Minimum Qualifications

<li>Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, Aviation Management, or a related field.</li>
<li>Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a security environment.</li>
<li>Valid driver's license.</li>
<li>Ability to obtain and maintain all required credentials, badges, and access privileges.</li>

Work Environment
 Depending upon contract requirements and post locations and assignments, duties may be performed inside or outside with variations of climate control and exposure to elements. Temperature fluctuations seasonally vary.
