Coveted, a fractional CFO and financial services firm, is seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to support our expanding client portfolio. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in QuickBooks Desktop, skilled at resolving complex bookkeeping issues, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment while collaborating with clients and internal team members.This is primarily a remote role, with quarterly in‑person team meetings and occasional client visits as needed.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Manage Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, deposits, and customer account updates</li><li>Handle Accounts Payable, including bill entry, bill payments, and check processing</li><li>Oversee bank and checking account management, including monthly reconciliations</li><li>Enter and reconcile credit card transactions</li><li>Process payroll entries from third‑party providers or QuickBooks Payroll</li><li>Perform job costing and ensure accurate allocation of expenses</li><li>Review financial reports with guidance from a manager</li><li>Identify, troubleshoot, and correct QuickBooks errors from prior bookkeepers</li><li>Maintain accurate records using both cash and accrual accounting methods</li><li>Onboard new clients and assist with financial statement cleanup</li><li>Apply working knowledge of GAAP (preferred)</li></ul>Required Skills &amp; Qualifications<ul><li>5+ years of bookkeeping or staff accounting experience with strong references</li><li>Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop (2018 or earlier required)</li><li>Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online is a plus</li><li>Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook</li><li>Excellent reading, writing, and verbal communication abilities</li><li>Ability to work independently, manage multiple clients, and meet deadlines</li><li>Solid understanding of the differences between cash and accrual accounting</li><li>Experience with additional accounting software (NetSuite, Sage, etc.) is a plus</li></ul>Education<ul><li>High school diploma required</li><li>Completion of a 2‑year community college program in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field preferred</li></ul>Pay: $30.00 - $37.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Work from home</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Schaumburg, IL 60194
