Job Summary: 
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective execution of maintenance activities by managing work orders, planning resources, and maintaining accurate records. This role involves reviewing and prioritizing work orders, assigning tasks to the planning backlog, and verifying proper approvals and authority. The planner oversees material requisitions for planned jobs, enters and closes work orders in the CMMS, and analyzes actual versus planned performance on completed tasks. Additional responsibilities include identifying recurring maintenance issues, maintaining equipment history and parts catalogs, managing storeroom inventory levels, and preserving technical documentation such as blueprints and service manuals. The position also coordinates special programs (e.g., ladder inspections, equipment surveys) and interfaces closely with the storeroom to ensure timely availability of parts and materials.
 
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Review work orders for each significant piece of equipment</li>
<li>Assign work orders needing planning and material to planning backlog</li>
<li>Asure work order has approval and authority</li>
<li>Approve store and purchase requisitions for planned jobs</li>
<li>Enter work orders into CMMS to accept charges and close when complete</li>
<li>Review actual vs. plan on completed work orders</li>
<li>Identify recurring maintenance problems</li>
<li>Establish and maintain equipment parts catalog, equipment history, storeroom, min/max levels</li>
<li>Maintain technical library (blueprints, technical documents, service manuals, etc.)</li>
<li>Coordinate special programs (i.e. ladder inspections, equipment surveys)</li>
<li>Interface with Storeroom</li>
<li>Assist with developing job kits</li>
<li>Prepare daily schedule for maintenance manager</li>
<li>Special projects as necessary</li>
<li>Organizational skills</li>
<li>Safety awareness</li>
<li>Complies with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP's) and any job or department specific SOPs.</li>

<li>Employee Health and Safety</li>
<li>SQF (Safe Quality Food packager) and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured.</li>
<li>SGP (Sustainable Green Printer) environmental regulatory procedures and SOP's</li>
<li>Must work within productivity standards and completes work in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Special Projects & other duties as necessary</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>High school diploma/GED or higher required.</li>
<li>Minimum 5 years of maintenance planning experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting required.</li>
<li>Experience with CMMS systems</li>
<li>Ability to work well with others</li>
<li>Ability to define and solve problems without assistance, dealing with many variables and limited information</li>
<li>Certification/licensure as requested</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office package software is essential.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written</li>
<li>Excellent time management skills.</li>
<li>Excellent attention to detail is essential.</li>
</ul>

Working Conditions: (travel, working hours, any unusual environmental conditions, protective wear required, etc.)

<li>Infrequent travel may be required for maintaining certifications, seminars, and training sessions</li>
<li>Exposure to chemicals (inks, solvents), moving mechanical parts, extended noise, etc. may require the use of personal protective equipment, earplugs, safety glasses, gloves, etc.</li>
<li>Work in a manufacturing environment around machinery (concrete flooring).</li>
<li>Pedestrian awareness while on forklift</li>
<li>Overtime as required</li>
<li>Follow all safety regulations and rules at all times, including wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE):</li>
<li>Eye Protection/ Safety glasses</li>
<li>Back belt/ Harness as applicable</li>
<li>Steel toe shoes</li>
<li>Hearing protection</li>
<li>Hairnets and beard nets</li>
<li>Hard hat if applicable</li>
<li>Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment: hot conditions during summer months and cool conditions during winter months. (consistently)</li>
<li>Must be able to prioritize/multi-task, be a team player and able to adapt to change</li>
<li>This position is a “safety sensitive” position. Individuals in this position are required to submit to post-incident drug and alcohol testing. (Buffalo, York, Bristol, Lakeville only, not applicable in Aurora)</li>
