The Analyst Energy Portfolio Analytics position supports qualitative and quantitative analysis functions for the Energy Portfolio Analytics (EPA) section of the Energy Supply &amp; Market Operations (ESMO) department. The role requires research and analysis to support planning, budgeting, and decision-making for CPS Energy wholesale power contracts (Power Purchase Agreements, Bilateral Sales, Heat Rate Call Options, etc). Data and information management, communication, and presentation of analysis methodologies and results are required. Role will also support pricing strategy, power forecasting, and market operations in various capacities</p></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Tasks and Responsibilities</b></h2></div><div><ul><li>
Researches and provides cost and performance information for all types of wholesale power contracts.</li><li>
Develops and manages long-range cost forecasts for energy resources, products, and other items related to resource planning.</li><li>
Researches market information and works with CPS Energy internal subject matter experts and consultants to support forecast developments.</li><li>
Learns and stays abreast of key energy policies and regulations that may impact cost, planning and decision-making for generation resources.</li><li>
Provides analysis support on various type of projects such as new power plant projects, plant upgrade and retirement decisions and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) on solar, wind, energy storage and other types of resources.</li><li>
Develop and maintain models to perform statistical analysis, including multivariate regression, to support forecasting and analysis.</li><li>
Manages large data sets and extracts information applications in various projects and processes.</li><li>
Utilizes computer-based business models, such as Excel, Metrix, Demand Response Management System (DRMS) / Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS), SAS , Aurora, Gen Trader, Tableau, Alteryx, and/or other analysis tools to conduct analysis.</li><li>
Presents analysis methodologies and results to internal stakeholders, providing recommendations as needed.</li><li>
Performs other research and analysis as assigned.</li><li>
Performs tasks with moderate supervision and support from EPA Management and other senior team members.<br>

Position Summary</b></h2></div><div><p>
The Design Coordinator role focuses on the coordination with internal (e.g., CPS Energy Gas, Distribution Engineering) and external (e.g., customer, general contractor, electrician, plumber) customer and design of overhead, underground electrical, and gas installations, extensions and/or system improvements. The position requires effective application of specialized knowledge to ensure that new construction requests comply with safety and regulatory requirements, while ensuring projects are designed in accordance with CPS Energy (CPSE) standards for load capacity. The Design Coordinator represents CPSE during customer site visits, providing design insight and educating customers concerning the steps required to move the project forward. The Design Coordinator applies knowledge of project interdependencies to ensure that key tasks are initiated, scheduled, and completed on the appropriate timetable, to achieve project goals. The position requires accurate application of mathematic principles for accurate invoicing, organizational systems for updating project status and attaching artifacts such as maps, permits and site images. Specific work varies by area.</p></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
Tasks and Responsibilities</b></h2></div><div><ul><li>
Conducts field inspections, to prepare project sites for construction, including staking pole locations and identifying buried utilities.</li><li>
Completes job sketches and mock-ups for service and meter sets in compliance with CPS Energy standards for map notations and design of electric and gas delivery systems.</li><li>
Coordinates with internal construction centers, external agencies, and customers to design the installation of overhead line extensions, underground electric line extensions, upgrades, remodels, and gas main extensions for residential service, residential developments, commercial services, and large commercial services to include civic improvement projects in the downtown network system.</li><li>
Proactively manages all inbound work volumes, without supervision, to accurately estimate time and resources, prioritize customer needs in balance with business standards to meet anticipate project milestones for timely release to construction.</li><li>
 Applies knowledge of CPS Energy infrastructure and design expertise to efficiently assess potential project impediments, makes decisions and effectively expresses clear and concise details and options that address customer needs in balance with CPSE requirements.</li><li>
Remediates project site encroachments to prepare job for construction by effectively persuading customers concerning the activities required to achieve project goals, while managing key site preparation tasks internally to align with anticipated construction release.</li><li>
Quickly and accurately assess potential project impediments, applying specialized knowledge of CPSE infrastructure, design expertise, and project specific expectations to offer design solutions that maintain delivery timelines and meet regulatory requirements.</li><li>
Creates accurate Contributions in Aid of Construction (CIAC) invoicing for customer projects and communicates the same to the customer/customer representative, providing alternative solutions when necessary and based on customer response to project costs.</li><li>
Applies effective interpersonal skills and empathy to effectively support customers through difficult decisions, persuading customers of critical activities required to achieve project goals while managing site preparation tasks necessary to meet anticipate construction release.</li><li>
Maintains technical and professional skills necessary to navigate CPSE and City data resources to evaluate project requirements and details against CPS Energy standards to maintain operational excellence through effectively using tools and technology for design work products.</li><li>
Promotes CPS Energy goals for transparency and excellence by maintaining constant awareness of project statuses, through proactive assessment and remediation of delays, providing up-to-date job status details in the appropriate business applications and/or engaging Expeditor Led to mitigate delay.</li><li>

Associate degree with a concentration in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or related field from an accredited university; In lieu of a degree, Experience in residential/commercial utility-scale distribution planning or residential/commercial utility construction CAD/GIS or other related technical experience will be considered.</p><p>
