The experienced Payroll and Benefits Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and the comprehensive administration of all employee benefits programs. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and acts as a primary contact for employees regarding payroll and benefits inquiries. Primary Responsibilities
Payroll Administration:<ul><li>
Manage the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, including new hires, terminations, changes in pay, bonuses, and special payroll runs.</li><li>
Ensure the accuracy of all employee data in the payroll and Human Resources Information System (HRIS).</li><li>
Process payroll deductions for benefits, taxes, garnishments, and other pre- and post-tax items.</li><li>
Prepare and file all required federal, state, and local tax documents (e.g., W-2s) and maintain tax compliance.</li><li>
Perform periodic audits of payroll records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and data integrity.</li><li>
Create and distribute various payroll reports for accounting and management.
</li></ul>Benefits Administration:<ul><li>
Administer and manage all employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and other plans.</li><li>
Assist with the entire open enrollment process, including vendor coordination, employee communication, and system configuration.</li><li>
Serve as a knowledgeable resource for employees, answering questions about benefits eligibility, coverage, and claims.</li><li>
Process enrollments, changes, and terminations related to employee benefits in a timely and accurate manner.</li><li>
Assist with vendor relationships and reconcile monthly benefit invoices to ensure accurate billing.</li><li>
Administer and track employee leave programs, such as Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), short-term disability (STD), and long-term disability(LTD).
</li></ul>Compliance and Reporting:<ul><li>
Stay up-to-date with federal and state laws and regulations related to payroll and benefits, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA), ERISA, and COBRA.</li><li>
Ensure all payroll and benefits documentation and processes adhere to company policies and legal requirements.</li><li>
Prepare government-mandated filings and reports for submission.</li><li>
Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll and employee benefits.
</li></ul><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.</li><li>
Minimum of 3&ndash;5 years of dedicated experience in multi-state payroll and benefits administration.</li><li>
Proven experience working with a payroll and HRIS platform (Paycom, Paylocity).</li><li>
In-depth knowledge of federal, multi-state, and local payroll and benefits regulations.</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel functions like VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable HR Generalist to manage and support a wide range of human resources functions for our multi-state workforce. This is a critical, hands-on role for a resourceful &quot;people person&quot; who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with an in-depth understanding of employment regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul><li>HR Compliance and Policy:
<ul><li>Assist with ensuring all company policies and procedures comply with federal, state, and local employment laws across all operating states, including changes related to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Title VII.</li><li>
Assist with drafting, implementing, and maintaining up-to-date employee handbooks and HR policy manuals tailored for each state's regulations.</li><li>
Stay current with emerging employment laws and propose proactive updates to HR policies and processes.</li></ul></li><li>
Employee Relations:
<ul><li>Serve as a trusted point of contact for complex employee relations issues, providing guidance and coaching to managers and employees.</li><li>
Conduct sensitive and thorough workplace investigations, documenting findings, and recommending appropriate action in compliance with company policy and local laws.</li><li>
Assist with disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, mediate conflicts and terminations, ensuring fairness and legal compliance across different state jurisdictions.</li></ul></li><li>
HR Administration and Technology:<ul><li>
Maintain accurate and confidential employee data in the HRIS, ensuring data integrity and generating relevant HR reports.</li></ul></li><li>
Recruitment and Onboarding:
<ul><li>Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process for positions in multiple states, including posting, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.</li><li>
Assist hiring managers in developing job descriptions and strategic recruitment plans that attract top talent across different regions.</li><li>
Support the performance management process, including conducting employee evaluations and developing training programs as part of the onboarding process.</li><li>
Assist with analyzing and researching HR metrics related to turnover, compliance, and recruitment to support strategic decision-making.</li></ul></li><li>
Performance Management:
<ul><li>Support and administer the performance review process within the HRIS system, guiding managers through performance conversations, goal setting, and professional development planning.</li></ul></li><li>
Training and Development:
<ul><li>Coordinate employee training sessions on various topics, including compliance, policy updates, and professional development.
</li></ul></li><li>Benefits and Compensation:<ul><li>
Assist payroll-benefits administrator on multi-state employee benefits programs, managing open enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries.</li><li>
Collaborate and process payroll as needed to ensure the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly multi-state payroll, taxes, and deductions.</li><li>
Assist with managing multi-state leaves of absence (FMLA, statutory disability, paid family leave), workers' compensation claims, and unemployment claims.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.</li><li>
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an HR Generalist or similar role, with at least 2 years of experience in a multi-state or multi-site generalist role.</li><li>
Professional certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is highly desirable.</li><li>
Multi-State Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing HR functions across various states, with a solid understanding of state-specific employment laws and compliance requirements. Proven experience in managing and resolving complex employee relations issues.</li><li>
Demonstrated proficiency with HRIS and applicant tracking systems (e.g., Paycom, Paylocity).</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel functions like VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
</li><li>Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.</li><li>
Maintain a high-level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.</li><li>
