The Hotel Engineer/Maintenance Technician ensures that all hotel facilities and equipment are maintained in excellent working conditions. This position responds promptly to maintenance requests and supports the overall guest experience by ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.We are a drug-free workplace and participate in E-Verify.Roles and Responsibilities: This job description is not an exclusive or exhaustive list of all job functions that an employee in this position may be asked to perform from time to time.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.</li><li>Diagnose and repair non-functioning machinery and equipment.</li><li>Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, including: Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical work, Painting, HVAC maintenance, Masonry</li><li>Conduct routine inspections and perform preventive maintenance.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of completed repairs and report items requiring further attention.</li><li>Maintain and update the Guest Room Preventive Maintenance Program.</li><li>Be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures, including the location of all emergency shut-offs.</li><li>Respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.</li></ul>Requirements: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees must be flexible with scheduling to meet business needs.<ul><li>Available to work shifts of 7:00 AM &ndash; 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM &ndash; 11:00 PM</li><li>Must be available to work weekends and holidays</li><li>Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Strong communication skills with guests and team members</li><li>Strong technical and mechanical aptitude</li><li>Ability to make sound decisions under pressure</li><li>Flexible availability</li><li>Ability to lift 50 pounds or more</li><li>Ability to operate heavy machinery</li><li>Licenses and certifications are a plus</li></ul>QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:Education: Degree a plus. Combination of vocational education, apprenticeship, in-plant training, or on-the-job training required.Experience: Previous hotel engineering experience a plusNOTICE:Friendwell Managed Hotels function twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. As a part of the hospitality industry a hospitable service atmosphere must be maintained at all times.
