Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. This role combines front desk administrative support with clinical assistance, ensuring a seamless patient experience from appointment scheduling to treatment. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing exceptional patient care while maintaining efficient office operations. You will be the first point of contact for patients and play a vital role in supporting the clinical team with dental procedures and documentation.Duties<ul><li>Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth appointments</li><li>Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Dolphin/ Open Dental</li><li>Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills</li><li>Assist dentists during procedures by preparing instruments, taking X-rays, and ensuring patient comfort</li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date dental records, including documentation review and filing of medical records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Meditech or Epic</li><li>Process payments, handle medical billing and collections efficiently while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy</li><li>Support clinic operations by managing intake forms, updating care plans, and coordinating with insurance providers for claims processing</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Proven experience in dental office settings with knowledge of dental terminology, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and medical billing practices</li><li>Strong computer skills including proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office), dental practice management systems (Dentrix, Eaglesoft), EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks), and specialized platforms like Athenahealth or Carestream</li><li>Familiarity with health information management standards such as HIPAA compliance and documentation review processes</li><li>Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently</li><li>Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively</li><li>Experience with insurance verification procedures including Medicare and Medicaid claims processing</li><li>Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry and general healthcare practices</li><li>Strong organizational skills for filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and office management tasks</li><li>Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in medical records and documentation review</li><li>Prior clinic or hospital experience is highly desirable for understanding healthcare workflows</li></ul>Join our team to make a positive impact on patients&rsquo; smiles while enjoying a supportive work environment that values your skills and dedication.
