<div>Job Summary:
<ul><li>Perform and review various routine and complex clinical laboratory tests according to departmental policies and professional standards to include maintenance, calibration and quality control in a cost-effective manner.
</li><li>Prepare test reports and notify appropriate healthcare professional of atypical/critical values with documentation.
</li><li>Assist with clerk, phlebotomy, specimen processing and pathology assistant functions as needed.
</li><li>Assume responsibility for complex problem-solving, exceptions handling, and student clinical training.
</li><li>Collect/Process chain of custody urine drug screens and breathalyzer tests.
</li><li>Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
</li><li>Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.
</li></ul>Education:
 
Associate's degree in clinical laboratory sciences or equivalent with completion of clinical requirements. National certification required.
Experience:
 
Six months of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
 
Must have the ability to prioritize, multitask, remain calm under stress, and communicate effectively. Basic computer skills required.</div>

LAB TECHNICIAN

Job Summary: 
Under the direction of a Dispatcher II, dispatch all 911 and non-emergency calls received in dispatch.
 Appropriately dispatch and provide directions to all ambulance calls.
 Maintain situational awareness of the needs of the EMS system.
 Maintain all paperwork and keep records as required by a dispatcher.
 Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
 Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.
 
Education: 
High school graduate (or equivalent) and must hold or be able to obtain APCO and Priority Dispatch EMD and EFD certifications within 6 months of hire. Must maintain CPR certification. Train on CAD, Communication, and 911 phone systems until proficient.
 
Experience: 
Dispatch experience with Spillman CAD systems is preferred but not required.
 
Additional Skills/Abilities: 
General typing and computer skills, EMS CAD system, Microsoft Office IE: (Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook). Professional communication skills and the ability to communicate with 911 callers, patients, coworkers, doctors, and nurses. Excellent customer service skills required. ICS courses required are 100, 200, 700, 701, 702, 703, 704, and 800.
