This role involves designing a wide range of projects, from straightforward planting and turf plans to complex, detailed hardscape installations.The Landscape Designer will meet directly with clients to understand their needs and preferences, then develop designs using AutoCAD software, prepare digital estimates, and present proposals in person. The position emphasizes delivering excellent customer service, supporting our construction crews with well-prepared construction documents, and producing designs that result in durable, lasting landscapes suited to the Midwestern climate.Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to:<ul><li>Meet face-to-face with client&rsquo;s on-site; listening to their needs and desires, make recommendations as needed, and promote a positive customer service experience.</li><li>Design and draft landscape plans in AutoCAD.</li><li>Create estimates for each project utilizing Dynascape 360.</li><li>Present your designs and cost estimates in a conference room or in-home setting.</li><li>Walk through our nursery with clients while confidently making plant suggestions.</li><li>Create detailed construction documents to communicate designs to our Residential Construction Project Management team.</li><li>Site visits upon request by Project Management team, home-owner, or crew members.</li></ul>Required Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:<ul><li>Local shrub, perennial, and tree knowledge for cold-hardiness zones 4 and 5.</li><li>Must be able to decipher and specify plant material based upon sun-angles, drainage patterns, and potential micro-climates.</li><li>Hardscape design and construction knowledge is a requirement. Training is available.</li><li>Minimum 1-year experience in landscape design/sales</li><li>Maintain a professional and positive demeaner with work associates and clients representative of the Culver&rsquo;s brand.</li><li>Proactive and detailed communication skills (written and verbal).</li><li>Able to self-manage multiple design projects, priorities and workflow.</li><li>Winter duties as assigned.</li><li>Working knowledge of:</li><li>AutoCAD (or other relevant drafting experience in a CAD based program)</li><li>MS Word, Excel, and Outlook</li><li>Adobe InDesign (preferred but not required)</li></ul>Education / Experience Requirements:<ul><li>A.A. or B.A/S.
