<p></p><p>Cumberland is set to host one of the world&rsquo;s most iconic sporting events &mdash; the <b>Tour de France 2027</b>. With Stage 1 finishing in Carlisle and Stage 2 starting in Keswick, this is a once‑in‑a‑generation opportunity to showcase our places, people, and businesses on the global stage.</p><br>
<p></p><p>We are looking for a proactive <b>Resident &amp; Business Engagement Coordinator</b> to manage how we engage, inform, and support communities and businesses along the race route.</p>
<p>This is a pivotal role where you&rsquo;ll ensure that those affected by the event feel informed, supported, and able to benefit from the opportunities it brings.</p><br>
<p></p><p><b>About the Role</b></p><br>
<p></p><p>You will manage the design and delivery of a comprehensive engagement programme for residents and businesses, ensuring:</p><br>
<p></p><ul><li>Clear, timely, and accessible communication</li>
<li>Effective management of road closure access arrangements</li>
<li>Strong community relationships before and during the event</li>
<li>Opportunities for local businesses to maximise economic benefits and engage with the Tour de France</li><br>
</ul><p></p><p>You&rsquo;ll work at the heart of a multi‑disciplinary project team, collaborating with highways, communications, event management, partner organisations and external consultants.</p><br>
<p></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><br>
<p></p><ul><li>Take an important role in the development and delivery a <b>Resident &amp; Business Engagement Plan</b> as part of the wider Event Management Plan.</li>
<li>Manage the <b>Resident and Business Working Group</b>, ensuring progress and delivery against key milestones.</li>
<li>Coordinate engagement activity including <b>community briefings, workshops and targeted visits.</b></li>
<li>Work with Highways and Transport teams to support communications on road closures, access arrangements, in order to manage the impact of the events on businesses and residents across Cumberland.</li>
<li>Produce and coordinate <b>clear communications</b> across web, print, and social media.</li>
<li>Design solutions for residents and businesses to <b>maintain access during the event.</b></li>
<li>Support <b>event control operations</b> and ensure engagement activity aligns with live event delivery.</li>
<li>Create resources to help <b>local businesses maximise Tour-related opportunities.</b></li><br>
