Position Title: TeacherGeneral Description: The classroom Teacher is responsible for the content instruction, supervision and evaluation of all students within their teaching assignment and will work within board policies and state laws to develop each child to their fullest potential so that they will be an informed, competent, and responsible citizen capable of assuming a productive place in society.Reports to: PrincipalDuties and Responsibilities&middot; To develop and implement an instructional program within his/her classroom in a manner consistent with policies approved by the Board of Trustees and aligned state mandates.&middot; High degree of knowledge of content related pedagogy relating to the assignment.&middot; Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.&middot; Guides in the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives.&middot; Plan and carry out a program of study and classroom lessons that strives to meet the individual needs, interests, abilities of students.&middot; Organize and maintain a pleasant and stimulating classroom environment for learning which provides for individual differences.&middot; The ability to implement instruction and maintain an environment conducive to learning.&middot; Assists students to set and maintain standards and follow acceptable rules of behavior.&middot; Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and reports progress to parents and administration on a regular basis.&middot; Seeks assistance of Network specialists to address the needs of students.&middot; The ability to effectively contribute to and manage an individual program plan for students with special needs.&middot; The ability to adapt curriculum to meet the varying needs of all students, including students who extend learning beyond designated outcomes.&middot; The ability to effectively utilize available technologies.&middot; Confer with parents and students in a cooperative effort to understand the student and to encourage their progress.&middot; Take adequate measures to insure the health, safety, and welfare of students.&middot; Continually appraise student progress using objective criteria for evaluation.&middot; Take part in curriculum planning to improve the educational program of the school and school system, devoting attention to the improvement of learning opportunities.&middot; Develop a working relationship with all members of the staff and other personnel assigned to the school.&middot; Be willing to participate in activities that increase one&rsquo;s professional development.&middot; Keep informed about school policies and procedures.&middot; Maintain and update school records as required.&middot; Be punctual and maintain regular attendance at school and at prescribed meetings.&middot; Communicate student progress to their parents on a regular basis informing parents of progress and achievement.&middot; Complete all required paperwork and responsibilities in a timely manner adhering to all directives and timelines.&middot; Maintain ethical and professional behavior in working with school personnel and other agencies.&middot; Participates in decision making and sharing leadership functions within the frame work of this job description.&middot; The ability to effectively utilize available technologies.&middot; Take adequate measures to insure the health, safety, and welfare of students.&middot; Keep informed about school policies and procedures.&middot; Demonstrated knowledge of effective principles of teaching and learning.&middot; Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a diverse school community.&middot; Ability to effectively motivate and assess students academically, behaviorally, and socially.&middot; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate or acceptable.Salary/Schedule: Salary is determined upon experience and qualifications.
