Position Summary:
The Leave of Absence Specialist is responsible for administering and coordinating employee leave programs across multiple states, including those with Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) requirements. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while delivering a supportive, high quality employee experience for both frontline and corporate team members.
The Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for leave-related inquiries, managing cases from intake through return-to-work, and partnering closely with HR, Payroll, and field leadership to ensure consistent, compliant, and efficient leave administration. 
Responsibilities:
1. Partner with our provider, SunLife, to manage the end-to-end leave of absence processes, including FMLA, PFML, ADA accommodations, personal leaves, and company sponsored leave programs.
2. Administer state PFML programs and ensure compliance with each state&rsquo;s requirements
3. Review and process leave requests, certifications, and return-to-work supporting documentation.
4. Serve as the primary contact for employees and managers regarding leave eligibility, timelines, pay implications, and return-to-work expectations
5. Support team members by providing clear, timely communication regarding leave rights, responsibilities, pay options, and required documentation
6. Work closely with HR Business Partners, Risk, and managers to ensure seamless leave coordination.
7. Support return-to-work processes, including fitness-for-duty reviews and accommodation coordination
8. Provide reporting on leave trends, usage, and compliance metrics.
9. Maintain accurate records and documentation in HRIS and case management systems 
Working Relationships: HR, Risk, Payroll, HRBP&rsquo;s, Team members at all levels across the retail and corporate, and External Vendors 
Minimum Education: HS Diploma or equivalent experience
Preferred Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Human Resources or related field
Minimum Experience: 2 to 3 years of HR, Benefits or Leave Administration Experience
Preferred Experience: Experience supporting multi-state or high-volume employee populations (retail preferred)
Licenses/Certifications: CLMS preferred
Soft Skills:<ul><li>
Experience with HRIS systems (UKG Preferred)</li><li>
Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and state leave laws</li><li>
Ability to manage high-volume caseloads with strong attention to detail</li><li>

LOA Specialist

<div>Position Summary:
If you are a high energy, outgoing person who loves to help others, work as part of a team, who is looking for a leadership role, and enjoy working in a food operation this job is for you! Responsibilities involve assisting with the management of the location&rsquo;s food business, providing great quality food fast and efficiently. Guiding other team members in food safety measures and presentation to ensure that our guests receive the highest quality food items in a timely, easy and pleasant manner. This role supports the Store Manager (or Brand Manager) and other team members in delivering an exceptional guest shopping experience and a working environment that promotes engagement and living the Company values. 
Responsibilities:
1. Greet all guests in a friendly manner to make them feel welcomed and appreciated.
2. Manage food stock levels, food costs and waste, preparation, presentation, and food safety requirements for hot and cold prepared food and beverage items.
3. Oversee the food service area&rsquo;s cleanliness, sanitation (maintaining proper standards adhering to standard food safety protocols) and maintenance of equipment.
4. Meet Company goals for food sales (i.e. pizza, breakfast sandwiches, coffee etc.)
5. Provide training, feedback, coaching and direction to fellow team members on food preparation and food safety requirements.
6. Maintain relationship with third party vendors on food Safety measures - monitoring and training on proper temperatures, holding times and waste processes (recordkeeping).
7. Maintain proper stock levels (ordering) and proper rotation of all food product for food sandwich case, sandwich warmers, pizza, chili, condiments and pastry cases, etc.
8. Process guest transactions in an efficient and friendly manner to minimize guest wait time.
9. Perform other duties as assigned at the discretion of the Store Manager or Guest Service Leader.
10. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Store team members, Store Manager, District Manager, Company personnel, and various vendors. 
Minimum Education: High School or GED
Minimum Experience: 6 months retail or food experience
Preferred Experience: 1 year in retail, service or restaurant environment
Licenses/Certifications: Serv Safe Certified a plus but not mandatory

Other:
Scheduling: This position is both part time (up to 29 hrs.) and full-time (32-40 hrs.) and involves working a variety of hours, day and night, as Cumberland Farms locations can be open 24 hours depending on the store. Weekend &amp; Holiday hours are required.
