The Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our Doha team in Qatar to work on the design of some of the most exciting structural design projects in Qatar and regionally around the Gulf.</div><div></div><div><br>
As a Structural Engineer, working with and guided by a team of senior engineers and working closely with colleagues in a multi-disciplinary environment, you will carry out detailed structural engineering design and analysis.</div><div></div><div><br>
You will use your knowledge and expertise to define and translate clients' needs into designs for buildings, infrastructure, facilities and services with sustainability at the forefront of the design.</div><div></div><div><br>
In addition, you will be given the opportunity to take part in our Digital Engineering initiatives and a wide range of training and development opportunities. You will work across a variety of sectors such as Education, Commercial, Healthcare, Retail, Industrial and Residential, and will have the opportunity and support over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop, and whilst you are mentored towards chartership, if not already Chartered.</div><div></div><div><br>
Main Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</div><br>

Manage engineering projects and co-ordinate resource and activities to achieve short-term time and financial targets</li><li>
Produce engineering designs, calculations and specifications, using appropriate technical software Co-ordinate input from other disciplines and specialisms as required</li><li>
Prepare technical reports in accordance with clients&rsquo; briefs</li><li>
Supervise and co-ordinate the production of technical drawings</li><li>
Check calculations, specifications, drawings and reports produced by others, in accordance with Operational Procedures</li><li>
Attend and participate in client and (internal and external) project meetings</li><li>
Undertake site visits to monitor the progress of works against Cundall&rsquo;s specification, and highlight issues to the contractor, client and/or (internal or external) project manager as necessary</li><li>
Report regularly to relevant Associate(s) on the performance of projects against agreed project plans and budgets</li><li>
Correspond with external third parties (eg clients, contractors, architects and/or manufacturers) regarding information and technical queries</li><li>
Comply with project management, Operational (QA), Environmental and Health and Safety procedures</li><li>
Provide training and coaching to less experienced staff</li><li>
Proactively manage own continuing professional development (including, where appropriate, actively pursuing Chartership with an appropriate professional institution)</li></ul>
The Skills:
<div>
Having a UPDA license from Ministry of Municipality and already been accredited with an MEng degree level (or equivalent) to enable Chartership with IStructE or ICE will be advantageous, you will have already gained strong design experience of structural engineering within a reputable consultancy environment and have a competent level of experience in structural analysis of buildings. Relevant IT skills including experience using structural design software CSI (SAP2000, ETABS &amp; SAFE) is essential for this role as well as AutoCAD and BIM (Revit).</div><div></div><div><br>
Experience in reinforced concrete structures as well as steel structure are essential for this role.</div><div></div><div><br>
Experience in high rise design in seismic regions will be looked upon favourably for the successful candidate. Experience using Euro Codes, BS and American codes is required.</div><div></div><div><br>
You have proven ability to produce creative design solutions in multiple materials, including steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry, and crucially &ndash; have a passion for creative and intuitive design.</div><div></div><div><br>
You have proven to lead structural design projects under the guidance of your team leader including coordination with other team disciplines.</div><div></div><div><br>
You have a working understanding and passionate of Parametric Modelling (Grasshopper or Dynamo), or at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#, VB) and Engineering Optimisation Techniques and basic knowledge in the application of Machine Learning.</div><div></div><div><br>
Given the collaborative and often client focused nature of this role, effective communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.</div><div></div><div><b><br>

 Educated to degree level in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (MEng or BEng or equivalent) and having gained relevant experience working on Middle East projects within a consultancy environment (design and coordination of electrical distribution and power generation, lighting, security systems, fire alarm etc), you are already well versed in the use of relevant design software including ProDesign (Amtech) and ideally, Revit and Dia lux.

The Role:
<p>
The Senior Design Manager will be responsible for the <b>overall delivery of projects</b>, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.</p><p>
This role will focus on <b>project execution and management</b>, integrating design, procurement, construction, and handover phases while managing risks, contracts, and stakeholder expectations.</p><p>
Key Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>
Lead the overall project delivery from initiation through design, procurement, construction, and handover.</li><li>
Quickly understand clients processes, needs and expectations and clearly communicate this to the team.</li><li>
Maintain a collaborative relationship with clients and stakeholders while ensuring that Cundall&rsquo;s commercial, contractual, and professional interests are protected at all times</li><li>
Be the recognized and trusted point of contact for clients on projects.</li><li>
Hold project kick-off meetings at every stage and ensure that the delivery team are well versed in the project deliverables and requirements.</li><li>
Develop and maintain project execution plans on projects, including development of overall master delivery program in coordination with the delivery team leads, to support the delivery of the project.</li><li>
Be accountable for the financial out-turn of projects by managing discipline leads month end procedures, invoicing and debt management.</li><li>
Day to day decision making on project progress.</li><li>
Provide clear and concise instructions and direction to the delivery team and provide stable project control.</li><li>
Manage stakeholder relationships, including client, contractors, consultants, and authorities.</li><li>
Oversee procurement processes, contract administration, and risk management.</li><li>
Monitor project progress against cost, program, and quality benchmarks and report to Project Director.</li><li>
Chair progress meetings, prepare reports, and escalate risks/issues as required.</li><li>
Manage change control, claims, and commercial implications of project variations.</li><li>
Maintain clear and accurate records and reports.</li><li>
Identify and escalate internally any performance issues with the delivery teams before the client raises them.</li><li>
Act as an initial escalation point on the project when required.</li><li>
Work with a degree of autonomy leading large design teams, but with the ability to recognize when guidance is required.</li><li>
Knowledge of QA procedures and ensuring the QA procedures are being followed by all project teams.</li><li>
Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance during project execution.</li><li>
Support lessons-learned and knowledge transfer for future projects.</li><li>
Actively participate in new growth initiatives internally and externally and to contribute to the development of internal systems and procedures.</li></ul>
The Skills:
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s or Master&rsquo;s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related discipline.</li><li>
12+ years&rsquo; experience in project management of large/complex projects.</li><li>
Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies (Design-Bid-Build, D&amp;B, EPC, etc.).</li><li>
Proven leadership in managing contractors, consultants, and multi-disciplinary teams.</li><li>
High-level planning and scheduling expertise (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.).</li><li>
