About the role</h3>
As a Commercial Account Executive at Cursor, you'll drive revenue growth by building strategic relationships with customers and helping them realize the full potential of Cursor for their development teams. You'll cover the full spectrum &mdash; from high velocity fast-growing startups to more complex Mid-Market deals &mdash; adapting your playbook to each.
You'll work closely with engineering organizations to understand their development workflows, demonstrate how Cursor transforms developer productivity, and guide them through evaluation, implementation, and expansion. This role combines technical fluency with sales expertise to help companies reimagine how software gets built with AI.<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
What you'll do</h3><ul><li>
Win new business and drive revenue for Cursor. Find your way to the right people at prospective customers, educate them about AI-powered development, and help them succeed. You'll own the full sales cycle, from first call to close</li><li>
Become a trusted product expert; guide prospects through trials, evaluations, and rollouts</li><li>
Build and manage a healthy high velocity pipeline, meeting and exceeding quarterly targets</li><li>
Lead multi-threaded sales cycles across Engineering, Product, Security, Procurement, and Legal</li><li>
Develop executive relationships and day-to-day champions within each account</li><li>
Quantify value with clear ROI cases tied to developer productivity and AI adoption</li><li>
Design and execute innovative sales strategies; analyze market trends and translate high-level plans into targeted activities and campaigns</li><li>
Be the voice of the customer and influence the roadmap with actionable feedback</li><li>
Continuously refine the sales methodology by incorporating learnings into playbooks, templates, and best practices</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
You may be a fit if</h3><ul><li>
You have 3+ years of closing experience in tech sales, ideally selling developer tools, technical SaaS, or emerging technologies</li><li>
You have a consistent track record of landing new logos and exceeding quota and managing a high velocity of deals</li><li>
You're a true hunter - you proactively build pipeline from scratch through outbound prospecting, creative sourcing, and relentless follow-up, rather than relying on inbound demand</li><li>
You're comfortable navigating complex sales cycles and selling to technical stakeholders &mdash; from ICs to CTOs</li><li>
You bring an analytical approach to understanding customer needs combined with creative, tactical follow-through to advance opportunities</li><li>

About the role
As an Account Associate at Cursor, you'll be the tip of the spear for pipeline generation &mdash; the first voice a prospective customer hears and the person who earns their attention before an Account Executive ever gets on a call. You'll work across the full range of our commercial segments, from fast-moving startups to mid-market engineering organizations, identifying the right buyers and creating the conditions for meaningful sales conversations.
This isn't a role for someone who waits for leads to come in. You'll build pipeline from scratch, learn how great engineering teams think, and develop a deep understanding of how Cursor transforms developer productivity. It's the fastest way to learn enterprise sales at one of the most exciting companies in AI.
What you'll do<ul><li>
Generate qualified pipeline for our Account Executive team through high-volume outbound prospecting &mdash; cold calls, personalized emails, LinkedIn, and creative multi-channel sequences</li><li>
Research target accounts and map stakeholders across Engineering, Product, and Leadership to identify the right entry points</li><li>
Conduct discovery conversations that go beyond surface-level qualification &mdash; understand how development teams work, what's slowing them down, and where Cursor fits</li><li>
Partner closely with AEs to develop account strategies, hand off opportunities cleanly, and stay looped in as deals progress</li><li>
Hit and exceed weekly activity targets and monthly qualified meeting goals</li><li>
Represent Cursor's brand and product with conviction &mdash; you'll be many prospects' first impression of the company</li><li>
Bring market intelligence back to the team: what resonates, what objections are coming up, what messaging is landing</li><li>
Help build the playbook &mdash; as an early AA, your patterns and learnings will shape how this function scales</li></ul>
You may be a fit if<ul><li>
You have 1&ndash;2 years of experience in a sales, customer-facing, or business development role &mdash; SDR/BDR experience at a SaaS or developer tools company is a strong plus</li><li>
You're a relentless self-starter who takes ownership of your pipeline and doesn't wait to be handed leads</li><li>
You write and speak with clarity &mdash; you can explain a complex product simply and tailor your message to a technical audience</li><li>
You're curious about how software gets built and excited by the idea that AI is fundamentally changing the craft</li><li>
You're organized and data-driven: you track your activity, learn from your numbers, and iterate quickly</li><li>
You have thick skin and genuine resilience &mdash; you don't take rejection personally and you bounce back fast</li><li>
