Who You Are and What You&rsquo;ll Do:</b><br>
We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced Associate Scientist to join the Oncology Research team. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting complex cell-based assays, and characterizing discovery stage novel biologics including masked T-cell engagers and ADCs to identify lead molecules. As a bench scientist, the individual will design and conduct high quality experiments independently with guidance of the supervisor, and will be responsible for data analysis and interpretation, thorough and accurate documentation of work, as well as clear and transparent communication of results in group settings including internal and external project team meetings. In this role, the individual will join a cross functional research team and interface with alliance partners. The candidate must have a proven ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.</div><div>

Job Responsibilities:</b><br>
<ul><li>Follow established protocols and routinely implement a variety of cell-based assays to characterize response of immune cells and/or cancer cells to novel biologics in vitro.</li><li>Independently design and implement new experiments/methodologies, as needed.</li><li>Maintain cell line cultures and contribute to the overall maintenance of laboratory, including tissue culture lab space.</li><li>Independently review technical literature and contribute to developing projects via ideation.</li><li>Analyze experiments with high scientific rigor and troubleshoot assay performance as needed.</li><li>Drive projects by interpreting experimental data and planning next steps.</li><li>Keep detailed, accurate, and up-to-date records of all experimental procedures and results.</li><li>Participate in project teams and communicate results at internal and/or external meetings and contribute technical information for group presentations.</li><li>Collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, with accountability for transparent communication and on-time deliverables.</li></ul></div><div>

Minimum Qualifications:</b><br>
<ul><li>MS (5+ years) or equivalent advanced degree in cell-biology, immunology, or related field; 5+ years of relevant industry experience preferred; or</li><li>PhD (0-1 year) or equivalent advanced degree in cell-biology, immunology, or related field; industry experience preferred.</li><li>Please note that a presentation of a scientific seminar is required during the interview process</li></ul></div><div>

Preferred Qualifications:</b><br>
<ul><li>Hands-on experience with tissue culture and proficiency in executing cell-based assays including but not limited to reporter assays, cytotoxicity assays, immune cell-based assays, is a must.</li><li>Proven expertise in laboratory techniques including flow cytometry, cytokine analysis, ELISA, MSD is desired.</li><li>Experience with early drug discovery workflows, specifically with screening of biologics is strongly preferred.</li><li>Experience in molecular biology techniques including cloning is a plus.</li><li>Ability to handle timeline pressures, and grasp project priorities to submit deliverables within designated timelines is required.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills are required.</li><li>Motivated and proactive self-starter with a positive attitude, who can quickly learn new skills and demonstrate a commitment to CytomX values of Integrity, Commitment, Creativity, Teamwork, Accountability and Fun</li><li>Must work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, highly cross-functional team environment with colleagues from diverse disciplines.</li></ul></div><div>

Compensation, Benefits, and So Much More</b><br>
<ul><li>The expected salary range for this role based on the primary location for this position in California is $115,000 - $135,000 per year.
