D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a <b>Head of Litigation</b>. The Head of Litigation will serve as the senior executive responsible for overseeing all litigation, claims management, and dispute-resolution activities. This role directs enterprise-wide litigation strategy, leading a high-performing team that manages complex legal matters, outside counsel, and litigation risk across all divisions and business units.</div><div></div><div><br>
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</div><ul><li>
Set and execute litigation strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate goals, risk posture, and regulatory obligations</li><li>
Direct all phases of litigation and claims management, including case assessment, strategy development, negotiations, settlement decisions, and trial oversight</li><li>
Provide expert legal counsel to executive, region and division leadership on high-risk legal matters and emerging litigation trends</li><li>
Collaborate with and provide regular updates to region and division leadership on active and potential litigation matters, ensuring alignment on risk assessments, strategy, and resolution planning</li><li>
Establish and enforce legal governance standards, litigation protocols, and documentation practices that strengthen defensibility and reduce exposure to operational, contractual, and regulatory risk</li><li>
Oversee internal investigations related to litigation, claims, and significant incidents, ensuring timely, accurate, and legally sound findings</li><li>
Select, manage, and evaluate outside counsel, ensuring effective legal representation, cost control, and alignment with the company&rsquo;s strategic objectives</li><li>
Lead, develop, and elevate the corporate litigation team, ensuring high performance, strong legal acumen, and exceptional support for divisions nationwide</li><li>
Participate in crisis-response and incident-management efforts</li><li>
Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, communication and ethical legal practice aligned with corporate values and expectations</li><li>
Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner with transparent communications and collaboration to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company</li><li>

Qualifications</b><div></div><div><br>
Education and/or Experience</div><ul><li>
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction</li><li>
12+ years of progressive litigation experience, including significant experience managing complex, high-exposure matters</li><li>
Proven leadership experience overseeing corporate litigation teams or serving as lead counsel</li><li>
Demonstrated experience managing outside counsel, budgets, and litigation operations</li><li>
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.</li><li>
Strong computer skills are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new programs/systems quickly is essential</li></ul><div></div><div><br>
Preferred Qualifications</div><ul><li>
Experience working at a Fortune 500 company or company with multi-site national operations</li><li>
Previous in-house litigation leadership experience in homebuilding, construction, or a similarly regulated and high-risk industry</li><li>

Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a <b>General Counsel.</b> The General Counsel will serve as the chief legal advisor to the CEO, executive team and Board of Directors, providing strategic guidance on all legal, regulatory, and governance matters. This role oversees the company&rsquo;s legal operations, leads the enterprise risk and compliance framework, and sets the direction for litigation, corporate governance, contracts, land acquisition, regulatory affairs, and ethical business practices.</div><div></div><div><br>

Provide legal support for crisis management, high-profile incidents, and sensitive company matters</li><li>
Select, manage, and coordinate with outside law firms and other legal resources</li><li>
