Job Overview
The Director of Business Administration is responsible for contributing to the overall success and sustainability of DIU through effective stewardship of resources, accurate reporting, and advising on business strategy. The position involves overseeing and managing various aspects of the University&rsquo;s business operations that primarily include the departments for Finance, Scholarships, and Human Resources. 
Activities<ul><li>
Financial Management: Direct staff involved in financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring financial performance to ensure that the University&rsquo;s financial resources are used effectively and in line with its goals. Ensure proper and optimized use of the university&rsquo;s finance software.
</li><li>Policy Development: Develop policies and procedures that align with their departmental goals and best practices. Work with the Senior Leadership Team on overall policy manual improvements.</li><li>
Risk Management: Identify and manage potential risks to the University, including financial, operational, and strategic risks. Developing strategies to mitigate these risks is also part of the role.</li><li>
Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports and projections for Senior Leadership Team to use for strategic planning.</li><li>
Scholarship Oversight: Oversee DIU&rsquo;s scholarship process, including the system for taking applications, the reporting needed for the committee to make decisions, and the administration of awards and reporting.
</li><li>Administration: Maintaining (or ensuring that delegated staff maintain) DIU&rsquo;s business-related functions including financial credentials (e.g., ECFA), bank accounts, etc.</li><li>
Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Communication
<ul><li>Meet as requested with the Senior Leadership Team.
</li><li>Meet regularly with the Provost and as needed with the President.</li><li>
Use project management tools, Outlook, and Teams for collaboration.</li><li>
Maintain professional correspondence with faculty/staff, vendors, organizations, and partners.</li></ul>
Qualifications
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree required, MBA or similar degree preferred.</li><li>
Small business ownership or CFO experience preferred.</li><li>
Experience in project management and department-level leadership.</li><li>
Strong oral and written communication skills
</li><li>Detailed orientation, analytical ability; strong skills in data management and reporting</li><li>
Fluency with standard corporate technology including Microsoft 365 suite, project management software, PowerBI, and ERPs.
</li></ul>Hours<ul><li>
20-40 hours per week.</li><li>
Normal office hours are 8-5, M-F. Remote flexibility is negotiable.
</li><li>Available after hours occasionally, when necessary.

Job Overview
The Account Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations at DIU, including the accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable departments. This role includes direct supervision of accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all financial processes. In addition, the Account Supervisor plays a key role in guiding the university&rsquo;s strategic financial decisions, making the position essential to the overall financial health and sustainability of the institution.
Responsibilities (ii)
<ul><li>Oversee the daily financial operations of the university, including accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and bookkeeping, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
</li><li>Supervise and provide leadership to the finance department staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
</li><li>Manage and report on budgets in the University&rsquo;s software, Sage Intacct, including budget establishment, control, and revisions, aligning financial planning with institutional goals.
</li><li>Deliver accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly and quarterly cash flow statements, forecasts, and performance dashboards, to executive leadership and the Board of Trustees.
</li><li>Support the VP of Business Administration in preparing board-level financial reports and ensure clarity and accuracy for high-level decision-making.
</li><li>Prepare and submit financial statements, annual reports, and IRS Form 990 filings for 501(c)(3) compliance.
</li><li>Coordinate and oversee annual audits, liaising with external auditors to ensure transparency and accountability.
</li><li>Attend senior staff meetings, university-wide events, and be available to the DIU community during scheduled hours and special occasions such as Faculty/Staff Forums, Inservice Days, and Commencement.
</li></ul>Qualifications
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master&rsquo;s degree or CPA preferred).
</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in a higher education or nonprofit setting.
</li><li>Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and IRS regulations for 501(c)(3) organizations.
</li><li>Proven ability to lead and supervise finance teams, with excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
</li><li>Proficiency in financial software systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
</li><li>Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
</li><li>Commitment to the mission and values of the institution, with a high level of integrity and professionalism.

<ul><li>Full-time. Normal hours are 8 am &ndash; 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
