Job Summary:The Marine Operations Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of a fleet of vessels. This role involves daily coordination with vessel crews, shore-based teams, port authorities, and regulatory bodies to ensure that operations meet company standards and international maritime regulations. The superintendent plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence, safety, and cost-effectiveness across marine activities.Key Responsibilities:Fleet Management &amp; Vessel Operations:<ul><li>Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned vessels, ensuring smooth and efficient marine operations.</li><li>Monitor vessel schedules, voyage planning, and performance to ensure timely arrivals, departures, and cargo handling.</li><li>Provide operational support to vessel Masters and Chief Engineers as needed.</li></ul>Safety, Compliance &amp; Regulatory Oversight:<ul><li>Ensure all vessels comply with IMO, ISM Code, MARPOL, SOLAS, flag state, and port state regulations.</li><li>Conduct or coordinate internal audits, inspections, and safety drills.</li><li>Lead investigations into incidents or near-misses and implement corrective/preventive measures.</li></ul>Crew &amp; Manning Support:<ul><li>Liaise with the crewing department to ensure proper manning levels and crew qualifications.</li><li>Support crew welfare, performance management, and training requirements.</li><li>Provide guidance and resolve operational or personnel issues affecting the crew.</li></ul>Port &amp; Terminal Coordination:<ul><li>Coordinate vessel operations with port authorities, terminals, pilots, and agents.</li><li>Manage berthing, loading/unloading, bunkering, and other port-related activities.</li></ul>Budgeting &amp; Cost Control:<ul><li>Monitor operational budgets for assigned vessels and identify opportunities for cost savings.</li><li>Review and approve expenditures related to stores, spares, repairs, and bunkers.</li><li>Track vessel performance metrics such as fuel efficiency, downtime, and turnaround times.</li></ul>Technical &amp; Maintenance Support:<ul><li>Work closely with the technical superintendent or technical manager to schedule dry-dockings, repairs, and maintenance activities.</li><li>Assist in planning preventive maintenance and ensuring minimal disruption to operations.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Maritime Studies, or a related field.</li><li>Master Mariner (Unlimited) or Chief Engineer license preferred.</li><li>5+ years of seagoing experience, with at least 2 years in a senior officer role (Master or Chief Engineer).</li><li>Prior experience in a marine superintendent or shore-based marine operations role preferred.</li></ul>Key Skills:<ul><li>Strong understanding of international maritime regulations and industry standards.</li><li>Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Proficient in marine software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Ability to make decisions under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.</li><li>Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.</li></ul>Work Environment:<ul><li>Primarily office-based with regular travel to vessels, shipyards, and ports as needed.</li><li>Must be available for after-hours support in case of vessel emergencies or operational issues.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-time

Marine Operations Superintendent

Job Summary:The Crewing and HR Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of crewing and human resources for an offshore ship management company. This includes recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and compliance of marine personnel, as well as implementing HR strategies, policies, and practices aligned with UAE labor laws and international maritime standards. The role ensures that qualified and competent crew are available for vessel operations, and fosters a compliant, safe, and productive working environment both onboard and ashore.Key Responsibilities:Crewing Management:<ul><li>Plan, manage, and coordinate the deployment and rotation of offshore vessel crew (including DP vessels, AHTS, PSVs, etc.).</li><li>Maintain an updated crew matrix for all vessels in compliance with client requirements and flag state regulations.</li><li>Ensure timely certification, medicals, visa, and travel arrangements for crew joining/leaving vessels.</li><li>Oversee compliance with STCW, MLC 2006, flag state, and OCIMF/IMCA standards.</li><li>Liaise with manning agents and ensure contracts meet company and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Monitor crew performance, handle grievance issues, and ensure disciplinary actions are carried out fairly.</li></ul>HR Management (Onshore &amp; Offshore):<ul><li>Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with UAE labor law and industry standards.</li><li>Manage employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and exit procedures for shore-based staff.</li><li>Lead talent acquisition, training and development, and performance management initiatives.</li><li>Maintain HR records, manage payroll inputs, leave tracking, and benefits administration.</li><li>Ensure alignment of HR practices with company values and a strong safety culture.</li></ul>Compliance &amp; Reporting:<ul><li>Ensure timely audits of crew documentation, appraisals, and training compliance.</li><li>Prepare crew reports, turnover statistics, budget forecasts, and HR metrics.</li><li>Liaise with clients on crew-related matters, attend client audits, and ensure compliance with charterer requirements.</li><li>Stay updated on UAE labor regulations, crew wage scales (ITF or client-specific), and international HR trends.</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Experience:<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or related field.</li><li>Minimum 7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in offshore ship management.</li><li>Strong understanding of STCW, MLC 2006, flag state and port state regulations.</li><li>Proven experience handling UAE labor law and HR processes.</li><li>Familiarity with offshore vessel operations (AHTS, DP, ROV support, etc.) and crewing requirements.</li></ul>Key Skills:<ul><li>Strong organizational and planning abilities.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Proficient in crewing software and HRIS systems.</li><li>Ability to work under pressure and respond to operational needs on short notice.</li><li>Leadership and conflict resolution skills.</li></ul>Work Conditions:<ul><li>Office-based in UAE, with occasional travel to vessels or recruitment hubs.</li><li>On-call availability for urgent crewing or HR matters.</li><li>Multicultural work environment requiring sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and languages.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timeExperience:<ul><li>Marine Crewing : 2 years (Required)</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>UAE Attested Certificates (Required)</li></ul>
