About the Role:
The General Labor Grounds Maintenance position is essential for ensuring that outdoor spaces are safe, clean, and visually appealing. This role involves performing a variety of physical tasks to maintain lawns, gardens, walkways, and other exterior areas. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall upkeep and enhancement of the property, supporting a welcoming environment for visitors and staff alike. Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.</li><li>
Basic knowledge of grounds maintenance practices and safe operation of landscaping equipment.</li><li>
Valid driver&rsquo;s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites.</li><li>
Strong work ethic with punctuality and reliability in attendance.</li><li>
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>
Previous experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping roles.</li><li>
Familiarity with plant care, irrigation systems, and pest management.</li><li>
Certification in equipment operation or safety training related to landscaping tools.</li><li>
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends or early mornings as required.</li><li>
Basic knowledge of environmental and safety regulations related to groundskeeping.</li></ul>
Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Perform routine grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging, and weeding lawns and garden beds.</li><li>
Operate and maintain landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools safely and efficiently.</li><li>
Collect and dispose of debris, leaves, and trash to keep outdoor areas clean and orderly.</li><li>
Assist with planting, watering, fertilizing, and pest control to promote healthy vegetation.</li><li>
Monitor grounds for hazards or maintenance issues and report them to supervisors for timely resolution.</li><li>
Support snow removal and ice control efforts during winter months as needed.</li><li>
Collaborate with team members to complete larger landscaping projects and seasonal cleanups.</li></ul>
Skills:
The required skills enable the candidate to efficiently perform daily maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and debris removal, ensuring the grounds remain attractive and safe. Proficiency in operating landscaping equipment is essential for productivity and safety, reducing downtime and preventing accidents.
