Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Fire Alarm Designer to our team in Beach Lake, PA. As a Fire Alarm Designer, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive fire alarm system designs that meet project specifications, client needs, and regulatory requirements. Your work will involve collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients to develop effective solutions that ensure safety and compliance with fire codes and industry standards. You will utilize design software and your technical expertise to create detailed layout drawings, schematics, and specifications for fire alarm systems in various types of buildings.

As a Fire Alarm Designer, you will:
<ul>
<li>Read and interpret building construction documents such as drawings, specifications and other contract documents.</li>
<li>Prepare fire protection shop drawings, specifications, equipment submittals and computer hydraulic calculations as needed for compliance with applicable fire protection codes.</li>
<li>Prepare equipment stock lists and fabrication lists for fabrication of fire protection piping and hangers and purchases material as necessary.</li>
<li>Survey existing buildings for accurate, economical installation of fire protection systems</li>
<li>Work closely with Design Manager, Sr. Designer, Project Managers, field staff and other employees throughout the company</li>
<li>Generate Request for Information Forms (RFI&rsquo;s), test certificates and Operation and Maintenance Manuals (O&amp;M&rsquo;s)</li>
<li>Attend Project Manager&rsquo;s meetings as necessary.</li>
<li>Attend related training classes, courses and seminars as requested by supervisor.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Good oral, written and telephone communication skills</li>
<li>Strong customer service skills</li>
<li>Moderate to advanced math and computer skills</li>
<li>Time management, organizational and interpersonal skills</li>
<li>Ability to read &amp; analyze building construction documents.</li>
</ul>
Education and/or Experience:
<ul><li>High school diploma / GED required; associate degree preferred with an Engineering degree a plus.</li>
<li>CAD experience preferred</li>
<li>Previous experience in Fire Protection Systems design or equivalent combination of experience and education</li>
</ul>
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
<ul><li>Valid Driver's License</li>
<li>NICET certifications preferred.</li>
</ul>
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
<ul>
<li>Office environment &ndash; moderate noise</li>
<li>Construction job sites &ndash; moderate to heavy noise, uneven ground, may be subject to heights</li>
<li>Ability to maneuver in restricted, poorly lit spaces</li>
<li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times</li>
<li>May be required to climb ladders up to 6 feet</li>
<li>Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)</li>
