We&rsquo;re looking for a Trial Attorney to take the lead on high-value personal injury cases, representing clients from intake through verdict. You&rsquo;ll handle all aspects of litigation&mdash;including discovery, mediation, and jury trials&mdash;with the full support of our experienced legal staff.

What You'll Do:<ul><li>
Lead complex personal injury cases through all litigation stages in NC District and Superior Courts (SC Bar a plus).</li><li>
Investigate claims, develop case strategy, and draft briefs and motions.</li><li>
Conduct depositions, discovery, expert consultations, and witness preparation.</li><li>
Try cases to verdict&mdash;presenting evidence, making opening and closing arguments, and cross-examining witnesses with confidence and clarity.</li><li>
Provide sound legal counsel and set realistic expectations for clients throughout the litigation journey.</li><li>
Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to improving processes within the litigation team.</li></ul>
What We&rsquo;re Looking For:<ul><li>
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school</li><li>
Licensed in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar</li><li>
At least 5 years of plaintiff&rsquo;s litigation experience in NC required</li><li>
SC Bar admission preferred</li><li>
Proven ability to manage complex personal injury cases from start to finish</li><li>
Deep understanding of civil litigation rules, courtroom procedure, and trial strategy</li><li>
Fearless presence in the courtroom and calm under pressure</li><li>
Excellent writing, communication, and negotiation skills</li></ul>

Trial Attorney (Relocation Assistance Available)

DeMayo Law is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to be responsible for managing all non-priority client files from assignment date throughout treatment process and until disbursement.
Responsibilities
Client Service<ul><li>
Assign cases to Case Managers.</li><li>
Conduct attorney reviews of all non-priority cases to monitor cases for coverage/liability issues, ensure clients are treating, medical management, spot over-treatment, monitor customer service aspect of case, make sure clients are released in a timely manner, etc.</li><li>
Monitor &amp; manage departmental standards in terms of client contact percentage &amp; checklist items.</li><li>
Communicate with clients to promote world class client service and to also help medically manage cases.</li><li>
Handle escalated calls that require attorney communication.</li><li>
Supervise Case Management Supervisor to ensure he/she carries out his/her duties.</li><li>
Attend and participate in weekly pre-litigation conferences with litigation attorney to determine whether to present top offers to clients or consider for possible litigation.</li><li>
Review all client surveys &amp; discuss items that need to be addressed with Case Management Supervisor.</li><li>
Perform annual review of Case Management Supervisor; assist with annual reviews for Case Management team members.</li><li>
Manage employee issues that may arise in collaboration with the firm HR Director.</li><li>
Communicate with all external persons as needed, to facilitate moving case forward.</li><li>
Answer questions from Case Managers &amp; Case Management Supervisor to help move cases forward.</li><li>
Process loan request/documents.</li></ul>
Medical Records<ul><li>
Oversee all aspects of the medical records department.</li><li>
Monitor case flow and ensure files are A/S reviewed in a timely manner.</li><li>
Review files to determine if clients are released or should be released, in an effort to get files A/S&rsquo;d and out to insurance company.</li><li>
Address questions from Medical Records Supervisor as well as from other members of medical records department.</li><li>
Oversee department to ensure all metrics are satisfied.</li><li>
Review files to determine whether treatment is related to auto accident-induced injuries.</li><li>
Find solutions when medical records staff are having difficulty getting medical records.</li></ul>
Settlement<ul><li>
Perform settlement appointments regularly.</li><li>
Handle all withdrawal and terminations of the pre-litigation department.</li><li>
Strategize for ways to improve value of cases for client benefits.</li><li>
Improve time-on-desk metrics as they relate to CSS and Medical Records departments.</li><li>
Review all new non-priority cases for Statute of Limitations and adjust Litify accordingly.</li><li>
Utilize the dashboard reports to analyze files ready to A/S.</li><li>
Review Settlement Memo&rsquo;s after negotiations are complete for accuracy.</li><li>
Answer questions from other attorneys and team members regarding settlements.</li><li>
Review releases.</li><li>
Handle all conversations with adjusters, regarding issues, post-settlement.</li><li>
Ensure the DLAW method of asking for referrals is employed during each disbursement.</li></ul>
Qualifications<ul><li>
Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school</li><li>
Admission in good standing to NC State Bar; admission to SC State Bar a plus</li><li>
Minimum of 2 years of personal injury practice experience required</li><li>
Must have passion for client service and building a world-class operation</li><li>
Ability to build strong relationships, manage multiple priorities and lead others</li><li>
Supervisory experience highly preferred</li><li>
Ability to multi-task while maintaining high attention to detail</li><li>
Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills and attention to detail</li><li>
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume practice</li><li>
Demonstrate the highest level of personal integrity, client confidentiality &amp; adherence to ethical standards</li><li>
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Office and ability to learn and use various software programs</li><li>
Experience using Litify or other CRM software preferred</li><li>
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus</li></ul>
