UES family looking for an educational educator/child care provider starting September 2026, from roughly 12:30pm to 8:30pm, Monday through Friday. They are looking for school pick-up, snack and meal prep, someone who will be with their family for at least a year or two, and someone who can make the mundane moments great opportunities for learning!The family is seeking someone who is incredibly reliable, responsible, and well-versed in child development, early childhood education, or other related fields. They are looking for a candidate with a bachelor&rsquo;s degree and experience in care and education. Early education majors (or a related field) are preferred. Those with childcare, after school, tutoring, camp counseling or education-related volunteer experience are also encouraged to apply!Requirements:<ul><li>Able to travel to the UES, NYC for all childcare sessions</li><li>Must be available weekdays from 11:00am - 8:45pm, Monday through Friday</li><li>At least three years of experience in babysitting, toddler childcare, early childhood education, and/or early elementary school lead instruction</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree, preferably in education or a related field</li><li>A self starter who is organized, creative, and punctual</li><li>Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Phone-free sessions. The family has requested that cell phone use is limited to necessary communication and emergencies only.</li><li>Nonsmoker</li></ul>Role and responsibilities: <ul><li>School pick up + child care</li><li>To use creative skills in planning activities that promote the physical, emotional, intellectual and social development of the child; focusing on the child&rsquo;s special needs and interests.</li><li>To support children's self-confidence, ability to express wants and needs, fostering curiosity, kindness, helpfulness, taking turns, how to handle frustration, etc.</li><li>To ensure homework is done, checked, learning gaps identified and supported, backpacks unpacked, checked and restocked as needed.</li><li>To promote good communication with parents concerning children's day.</li><li>To dedicate as much as possible to educational events and activities. Examples: flash cards on the bus, reading during meals, having the older children read to you while you&rsquo;re prepping meals, etc.</li></ul>Preferred qualifications:<ul><li>A degree in teaching and early elementary certification</li><li>Certifications in Infant &amp; Child CPR/AED and First Aid</li><li>Advanced degrees in education or related field</li></ul>Please note:<ul><li>This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required.
