About the Team
The Agent Engineering team at Decagon deploys mission-critical AI agents to our customers that impact millions of users and directly drive Decagon&rsquo;s growth. You will build on our industry-leading AI agent platform, collaborate directly with customers and use your own creativity to devise long-term, scalable solutions.

About the Role
At Decagon, integrations are core to the product. Our AI agents succeed when they embed deeply into customer systems, workflows, and data. As a Software Engineer, Integrations, you will design and build the connections that make this possible.
You will work at the frontier of AI agent building, turning complex customer environments into scalable, productized integrations that strengthen Decagon&rsquo;s platform. Each integration you build compounds value, powering both immediate deployments and future customer launches.
You will collaborate with Agent PMs, Product, and Engineering to ensure our agents not only connect to enterprise systems but also deliver reliable business outcomes. This role combines engineering, systems design, and product thinking. It is a fit for someone who enjoys solving challenging technical problems while seeing their work have direct impact with enterprise customers.
In this role, you will<ul><li>
Build and maintain integrations: Implement new integrations with customer systems and ensure existing ones remain reliable.</li><li>
Productize repeatable patterns: Turn bespoke customer integrations into reusable, configurable solutions that accelerate future deployments.</li><li>
Support deployments: Partner with Agent PMs during customer onboarding to scope, configure, and validate integrations</li><li>
Contribute to roadmap: Surface insights from customer work to inform how Decagon should evolve its integration platform.</li><li>
Documentation &amp; knowledge sharing: Create clear internal docs and playbooks so future integrations can be delivered faster.</li></ul>
Your background looks something like this<ul><li>
5+ years of experience in integrations, solutions engineering, or backend/API-focused roles (ideally in B2B SaaS).</li><li>
Strong technical skills with APIs, webhooks, and authentication standards (OAuth, SAML, etc.).</li><li>
Hands-on experience integrating with platforms like Zendesk, Salesforce, or similar enterprise SaaS.</li><li>
A track record of building integrations from scratch and making them production-ready.</li><li>
Comfort balancing customer-specific problem solving with building towards scalable, reusable solutions.</li><li>
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset&mdash;able to work closely with PMs, engineers, and customer stakeholders.</li><li>
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.</li></ul>
Even better<ul><li>
Experience building SDKs, middleware, or reusable integration frameworks.</li><li>
Familiarity with conversational AI, customer service automation, or agent deployments.</li><li>
Prior experience in customer-facing technical roles (solutions engineer, implementation engineer, etc.).</li></ul>

Over the past few years, development of LLMs has evolved at a rapid pace. It&rsquo;s not enough for our customers to just &ldquo;set it and forget it&rdquo; when it comes to AI software. Truly successful AI Agents require guidance and input throughout the development lifecycle.
About the Role
As part of the Strategy &amp; Operations team, you&rsquo;ll explore how people and AI can work together most effectively in real-world settings. Your mission will be to design, build, and optimize human-AI collaboration patterns that make frontier AI systems both practical and transformative for our customers.
This work spans research, design, and product strategy. You might:<ul><li>
Conduct field studies to understand how users interact with AI in their workflows</li><li>
Prototype new conversational and interaction patterns between humans and AI</li><li>
Run experiments and analyses to measure effectiveness and reliability</li><li>
Partner with Engineering and Product teams to translate insights into deployments that matter</li></ul>
Your findings will shape how Decagon deploys AI in mission-critical contexts and how we build toward the next generation of intelligent systems.
In this role, you will<ul><li>
Design and optimize enterprise-grade AI conversational experiences that map to real workflows and goals</li><li>
Conduct research and experimentation to uncover effective patterns of human-AI collaboration</li><li>
Run fast feedback loops with Engineering and Product to refine model behavior and features</li><li>
Translate user insights into actionable recommendations for AI deployment and roadmap planning</li><li>
Serve as a trusted advisor to customers and internal stakeholders on conversational AI design best practices</li></ul>
Your background looks something like this<ul><li>
4+ years of relevant experience (e.g., product manager, conversational designer, applied researcher, consultant, engagement manager, or founder)</li><li>
Strong ability to blend qualitative insight (user research, workflow mapping) with quantitative rigor (experimentation, data analysis)</li><li>
Technical fluency to understand and shape AI-driven interaction design</li><li>
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to bridge technical and business contexts</li><li>
Comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where you define problems as much as you solve them</li></ul>

Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Business, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field &mdash; or equivalent experience</li><li>
Prior experience designing conversational systems, chatbots, or human-AI interaction frameworks</li><li>
